Just want to say that I agree with the general sentiment; by all means solicit ideas but the choice is rightly yours - it's our thank you to you (not the other way around).

I like the idea of playing with refresh / F5 but naming it for yourself is absolutely fine with me.

Although, if you wanted to Tribute the "Jonty Effect", Jonty's Winter or something.

You're quite right!!! It would look out of place , and maybe even rejected by Frontier having KS themed name..

It's a space station, and no I think the name will be unrelated to any in-game characteristics unless the designers decide to drop something in, like putting Winter's Retreat in orbit around an ice world. But the pledger doesn't get any say in that, just throws a name into the bag.

Not a big fan of people's whole names for a place, I think it's better when "diluted"... but "place" and "palace"... hrm.

Well, I'll keep on the lines of naming it with respect to the community but will try and make a subtle reference to me or my stats website.

I look forward to further ideas popping up in this thread and will use any suggestion as inspiration!

Frontier have always thrown in some fun names, and I very much hope this is something they will continue with E4:smilie: certainly Patrick Moore and Steven hawking should be honoured, but maybe a nod to other fictional universes: it would be great to fight your way across a hostile galaxy and dock at Marvin's Hole.I understand why frontier is putting all their efforts into kickstarter, but a nod to longstanding supporters, whether or not they have been able to pledge, would be great.

What you make out of website ads is yours, if anyone paid for it other than you, it's the advertisers - not those who clicked on them

I like the "Winter" names suggested so far - I hope you use something along those lines.

I assume that Frontier will tell you the location of your named station when the game launches. The mind boggles at the idea of searching billions of star systems to find it! When you do know its location, could you tell the rest of us? I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like to visit and maybe take a souvenir pic. Just imagine if there was a guest book we could sign...
