Are you Ian Bell ?.
Its the "are we there yet" approach.
Humour me... What has Ian Bell got to do with it? Caveat... It's a dangerous game bringing Ian's name into anything Frontier related.

Sadly lacking is FDEV commentaries once again. What is with these people are they too scared to post? To react when everything seems to be falling down yet again. Yet again! They break the game without proper QAQC and we take the blame. Am I the only one who thinks this is kind of weird?

I know how miffed he is, so I drew a comedy parallel that shouldn't be taken seriously.

Based on what they've done in the past I'm expecting a cinematic trailer before a Christmas blockbuster movie in winter 2020 [...]
Okay on topic.
Why blaming a company/team, when everything works fine on other mashines (like mine). And yes, I am VERY familiar with IT, programming and telecomunications-infrastrukture. But thats also irrelevant, like my gender.
And I only referred, at the beginning, with the claim of a forumite, that it "takes days" to get from orbit to ground and that forumite blamed the Devs for it. I only sugested, that it must not be surly the engine / devs fault that causes the delay.
You are STILL trying to turn my words and statements around. It won't be successful.
So I'm out of this pointless conversation, till you can provide something more substancetional to the MAIN-Topic (FDev-Announcement for Routeplan-changes).

Yep, works like a charm. Ask Sandro Sammarco when he published his PP Open only proposal and at least 2 times explicitly pointed out that nothing is set in stone and no decision has been made. I don't remember his exact words right now, but you can find them in the archives. Fact is, he was very explicit in his wording and look how well this worked: The forums are still burning from playersaskingdemanding now exactly this with a pointer to this very proposal.
Fact is, this community simply refuse to read stuff that it doesn't want to acknowledge. Like in real life.![]()
Is it only me that see the development since release as a scattershot approach? Seemingly devoid of any over-arching direction?
The spacey-ness (layman's term) of ED is second to none. Second to none, I say!
But, what they've done with it. How they've developed it... Does no one else worry? Does no one see this masterpiece as being tainted by what has come since?
Planetery landing were cool! Were very cool. But, then they weren't that cool once you'd landed twice. Ooh, there's a cliff! Screenshot! There's a valley! Sceenshot!
There's another valley. No screenshot. That hills boring actually.
Now I try to avoid any missions that have planet bases as their destination. Why? Because it's boring and takes ages! Nice added content.
They made this great, superlative, wonderful space game and, I can't help but think, that they didn't know what they would do with it after they flogged it.
For me ED has been an exercise in patience. It's gotta get better, right? They'll introduce the 'game' bit next, right?
I like playing ED but I still enjoy doing the same stuff I did when it first came out. And, after a while, that gets a bit dull.
Is this game held up by a core crew of nerds that love bland but yet amazing spacery? Is that enough?
No. It should not be enough for something as amazing as this galaxy that FD have created. It's frickin amazing!
But, I see no vision. No plan. No, direction. Just boring, vapid - mainly fighting - orientated fluff.
400 billion systems? FD should have done 1 million systems and made it a game.
It feels like Brabens vanity project and they are now scrabbling around (when work on other titles allows them) trying to mend this into an actual game.
I love ED, I really do. Despite my occaisional slightly negative tone. But I cannot help but feel that it's been wasted and abused by crappy development ("If you use this feature we'll develop it" - what?) with no over-all 'idea'. If there is there is one and I'm wrong you'll have to point it out to me.
Think of how wonderful ED is - and then think of how developed (or non-developed).
Snatchin defeat from the jaws of victory is the one saying that I think captures a little of what I feel has happened to ED.
New era? Shouldn't need no new era. NOW should have been the era.
(I have had some wine).
