So it's done... <joke>So where is all the rest of the content, wahhh, the game is empty etc</joke>

I know I started a thread saying I was taking a break and made some suggestions:

I stand by those suggestions and they are still all issues that contribute to frustration and should be addressed.

I came back to the game and changed my approach, which made things far less frustrating. However, it involved far more manual note taking and totalling outside of the game than I'd care to get involved in. We shouldn't have to create a business plan to manage our material collection in game. Due to that here's another suggestion.

SUGGESTION - TAG MATERIALS.

What we need is to be able to pin as many blueprints as we want. Within those pinned blueprints we should be able to "TAG" all the materials so that when something drops we see it as a different colour or highlighted in some way. The game automatically totals all the materials we need from all the blueprints we've tagged.

LIMPET FILTERING

Limpets should be controllable so that they pick up: ALL, MATERIALS ONLY, TAGGED MATERIALS ONLY, CARGO ONLY

Simple. Intelligent limpets and no more out of game post it notes covering every inch of desk space...

Do I get a coconut now, or maybe a decal?

Filers for lmipets would be nice. Having materials in blue like mission USS would be nice too.

Perhaps a coconut decal. Also I'm pretty jealous you could get to Palin.
 
Queston is if there are maybe some engineers you get to know aobut through other means then public knowledge or from other Engineers.

You sound like the guy who can speed run factorio .. there are always extremes in gaming. Like the people in asia that literally play until they die we read about in the news every week. Take a break bro - you deserve it.

Thanks mate. There are a few tweaks I want to do and also still waiting for the reputation trade for specials feature, but a few days break wouldn't hurt :D

gz, now get perfect rolls on all your stuff on all your ships :)

Hah, yeh there are a few tweaks to make. Although most of the rolls were really good. Got some amazing rolls with Felicity that won't need redone on FSD. 54LY in the Conda without fully stripping it.

Big respect OP, more willpower than i've got, I've managed to get everyone except for Didi (tedious) and Palin (tedious and bugged behind syrius gate) out of the ones that aren't just pointless stepping stones.

I'm waiting on them to rethink the rares shipping, as the current implementation is so lame I can't bring myself to do it, already did 50 cigars and 100 fujin tea i'm not doing 200 brandy.
 
Wow, I've only got 4 of them up to tier 5!

I like your suggestions, though I do think we can run into a problem of having TOO many features/options if we're not careful (ie multiple limpet settings).

Thanks. Didi was by far the biggest grind. The tea for Tarquin at least spawned a consistent 8/9/10 units. Palin works out OK if you get a decent set of anomalies to drop into and they drop 2 pieces sometimes.

I have a question for you all:
Could you please tell us what's your ranks with how many engineers and how much time it took you to get there ? (approximation)

A serious question... Now you have access to so many blueprints, what's your opinion on:-
1) The mechanics themselves to earn access to them?
2) More importantly, the need for them? If everyone had very easy access to all the blueprints (ie: could level up very easily), what would the downside really be? ie: So folks could get some enjoyment out of playing around with the crafting?


As regards your joke about, "where the content." It's actually a very valid point to me. So you had to play the existing areas of the game, to allow you to gain access to 20% more pewpew or 25% more jump range, and now you'll...???? Continue to play the same existing areas of the game...

What has this entire (big) effort actually added to the game really? Ultimately couldn't it have been simplified and some of that time been employed in actually adding (better/deeper) gameplay mechanics?

"Programming Limpet" - ok go outside and get stuff whatever it maybe even though I know what I'm looking for - is pretty technical "programming" ain't it!

There are always people that will race or simply grind to the end to get it over with so they can get back to doing things they really enjoy.

Well it's rank 5 with them all. Time taken is since the game was released, minus 1 week where the game had frustrated me so much I didn't play. Playing most days. Not sure about hours.

Initially I used each engineer's alternative method of repping up. For trade it is only really viable in the Cutter. 720 tonnes will generate around 500,000 profit give or take, depends on the supply and demand. The demand at engineer bases changes very easily. I cycled Thorium, Lanthanum and Thalium.

I think it is much quicker to actually rep up with them through crafting though, but whatever you do don't go tunnel vision on it because that's what made me drop the game for a while. Pick the blueprints of 3 different engineers and work on them all at the same time. Work out what you will need for 3 grade 1, 3 grade 2, 3 grade 3 and 3 grade 4 crafts and total it for all 3 of those engineers.
