Completely unacceptable amount of bugs

Completely unacceptable amount of bugs

What do you expect? It's Summer.

"TSOHOSAIE" doesn't show up when entered into search - usually means that it doesn't exist. You've probably misspelled it.

Your original problem is due to insufficient jump range. You really want to get up above 15LY if you want to do some long distance travel. More is always better.

My passenger hauler does 49LY max jump.

A properly outfitted Cobra, even without engineering, can easily get above 20LY

I don't know what's wrong with the link - but use a 2A power plant - not the 4D - the 2A is lighter and has better heat efficiency.

And -NO - don't try to kill anyone. Focus on driving the taxi and you'll make more credits faster.

Woah there cowboy!
For a start, your post went from informative to ranty, and then to defensive.
All the cmdrs in this thread have been attempting to talk you off the ledge (mostly)...
Some of your facts are incorrect, and some of your understanding is uninformed.
Take a breath and try again when yer not so angry. I know about frustrating mechanics (see my recent posts), but the community is here to help you out, not be a sounding-board for a tirade.
These 'guys' all know what they're talking about. So ask the question, debate, and inform them and yourself.
I think you'll find it is much easier on yer brain when you discuss the problem and see weather or not it's a bug, a mistake (on your part) or something in-between.
PEACE!

Nope, the PS4 is not a computer. This thread is in the PS4 section.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound unfriendly. I do appreciate the help, though. And, I actually like this game. It's relaxing compared to my other FPSes. ;-)

Guys, be friendly to each other. :D

To the OP, try upgrading your FSD to grade A and you will find plotting routes much easier.

Last night, I picked up a tourist who wanted to travel to the Taosha system. The contract would've paid $1.2M credits. After buying the requisite business-class cabin, outfitting my ship with a fuel scoop and generally being excited, the Taosha failed to offer up any plottable routes.

This happens, when you FSD can not jump the gap between systems. The more mass a ship has, the shorter the range in general, you should upgrade FSD and Powerplant always first in a ship. It really helps.

The Plot route button continues to this day to say "Route plotting failed." I took it upon myself to try to recurse navigate into the Taosha system, spending nearly six hours to get there. The Taosha system couldn be selected but would not appear in the Navigation window of my ship. So therefore FSD was unavailable, and the ETA hung at 2.4 days forever.

And, again today, I accepted another tourism contract. Only to find that Search is not functioning for the Tsohosaie system either. The pointer is stuck on the Taosha system from last night's fiasco.

see above. Upgrade FSD for more jumprange!

Elite is no easy game. You have much to learn.
The things you are upset about are no BUGS. The learningcurve in ED is high. You have to learn mechanics. Learn to solve them and learn, what module solves the Problem. For Jumprange is a better FSD the solution. (E is the baddest, A the best.)

See these Haulers:
Hauler with Class E FSD: http://www.edshipyard.com/#/L=A0V0,FBG0,,9p30A4Y0AKA0AZo0Ans0B1U0BH60BX_0,,03w003w07Og02Uc0
Between 9,87 and 8.08 LJ Jump

Hauler with Class A FSD: http://www.edshipyard.com/#/L=A0V0,FBG0,,9p30A4Y0AKA0AZA0Ans0B1U0BH60BX_0,,03w003w07Og02Uc0
Between 21,71 and 17.75

You see, how weight affects the range?

Second, i can not find a system "Tsohosaie", but "Taosha" i can find.

I strikes me that FR wants to make it nearly impossible to advance in the game, or to drag out ranking up endlessly. If these issues aren't resolved over the next few days, I will bring a lawsuit against FR and PSN for selling me a game that does not work!

Do this and you will loose. Your Problems are no bugs. The game works. You simply have to learn the way of the game.

Ive got loads of dogs, well I havent, Ive got 1, and its a cat, I'm going to sue pedigree chum

One bug, thats not even a bug, its info telling you what you are trying to do isnt possible, and a spelling mistake, is not an unacceptable amount of bugs enough to win a lawsuit, if you keep blaming the game, and not accepting its possibly lack of understanding then you wont get very far

Why would he be a troll? I've been there. Going on a passenger mission not finding a visitor beacon and thinking it was a bug. My reaction was different but I can understand the frustration. He will learn and become a great commander. The force is strong with this one :D

Nope, the PS4 is not a computer. This thread is in the PS4 section.

Really?
And enough with the hyperbole.

There is usually a reason why something happens. FDev have done a great job of building a Computer game that both echoes the '84 original and also opens it up to this current generation of players.

As I think you probably know by now, one reason why you were struggling may be the FSD.
If you had posted a polite request, either on this PS4 forum or more appropriately on the NewComers forum, then you may have got a polite response back without raising the hackles of a number of the other board users.

Rather than assume that the game is broken, assume that the issue is caused by your ignorance of how the game works and ask yourself what would you have done in the original game when faced with a similar problem. You would have had to work through a bit of trial and error to get it working (or put the game on the shelf and never touched it again). Now you have the www at your finger tips, the support of a wealth of people through forums such as this and a much improved UI.

I highly doubt you would have looked to sue Frontier in '84 because you couldn't work out how to jump to a certain system, in a game containing thousands and thousands of stars that you could jump to.

Be realistic with your expectations. There are a lot of things that you can do in the game and, at times, you may be ill-equipped for some of the opportunities shown to you.

People come on forum and ask questions, get answers. No Problem - as you said, we've been all there at one point or the other. However, if you are asking, you may not like the answer, which is also OK. But neglecting every hint and clue given, and bringing up very strange arguments like "PS4 is no computer, therefor .." or "completely fitted, got an 4E FSD" and so on and so on, just feels like someone is provoking the whole community here. I may stand corrected, but this guy ticks all the boxes in regards of being a troll. Sorry.

I'm new to the forum so you maybe right. Maybe I'm too naive to see such things but seeing how high the review scores on ED for PS4 are I would expect to see much uninformed people joining the forum complaining about stuff that seems obvious to us now. Not knowing a Playstation is a computer. Well it's 2017: my mom hates computers still says she will never use one as she can't work with one but she loves her smartphone ;)

To be fair to the OP, they also ticks all the boxes for a frustrated angry new player who's out of their depth. They appear quite regularly in the newcomers forum. After they have time to cool down many return with a much better attitude and get good help. That's the way I'm leaning at the moment.

Lets give the OP the benefit of the doubt, I think he was just frustrated. Hopefully there has been enough help for now to get him back on track, please stay on topic rather than discussing trolling.

Cheers.

Yeah you may be right, and i'm to harsh. Who knows. But my troll-sensor get's automatically activated by "lawsuit, sueing" and complete neglecting that the fault maybe, just maybe is on the player side and not on the developer's.
Most new players asking and getting answers are like "Oh boy, someone could have me told earlier" - which is normal. And makes the forums (most of the time) a nice place. Storming the door, yelling and venting, threatening with a (laughable) lawsuit ... well ... you see where i'm aiming at.

I apologize for calling him a troll. sorry.

Please stop telling me I don't know how to play this game!

Unfortunately its true. Its clear you don't understand the mechanics yet and that's what great but also frustrating about the game. I went through the same frustrations not more than two weeks ago! but once you understand things better, it all makes sense.

Re the OP issue. What you are confusing is trip length with length of individual jumps. eg, imagine a river with a lot of stepping stones. the river is really wide but has lots of stones not that far apart. Its a long way across so you need to take a break half way across and get a drink. That's what is showing on your trips with the dotted lines. The route is possible but you need to refuel, (either at a station or scooping)

The other version is the same river. Theres a part that's not as far across so looks do-able. However, in one part of the route across the stones are spaced much farther apart. You aren't able to jump from stone to stone in this section. Its just too far of a jump. That's whats showing when it says 'route not possible'.

The way to make that jump possible and open up the route is to upgrade your legs or FSD. ie A 4A is better than a 4 E 4D 4C etc.

When I started in my sidey, I couldn't jump to a station and it frustrated the heck out of me, until I worked the above out. Nows theres not many rivers I cant cross, no matter how long the journey is.
