I'm probably preaching to the choir here but I find that once I spend a few days in the Bubble I'm already itching to head out into deep space again.

I only got back from my last 7,000 ly trip last week, touching down next door to the Khun system, sold my data, had some space beers and then started poring over the Galaxy Map again. There's just so much out there!

I spent a bit of time visiting the Voyager probes, took a trip to Hutton Orbital and then decided to go and explore Sothis. Having done that, and noting how close the Sanguineous Rim is to Sothis I decided to go for a jaunt. One thing led to another and now I'm in the Elysian Shore.

Notable fun and games include finding a Type AEBE star in the Sanguineous Rim, and blasting myself 5k off the surface of a small moon in the SRV by driving over a water geyser (10/10, would recommend!).

Anyone else find themselves compulsively exploring like this?

Think my current plan is to wait until Odyssey drops and then head out to Sag A* via Colonia.

Yeah, I think the last month or two leading up to a major update is always the hardest for me. I feel like I need to stay near the bubble to take advantage of whatever the new things will be. So if I explore during that time, it's usually in small, tight loops near the bubble, or next to one of the nearby nebulae, or something like that.

Or, when I was waiting for the bug-fixed release of the FSD boosters back in the early summer of 2018, I used the time to finish grinding out combat elite. I never felt like taking the time to do that, and here I was stuck, waiting for an update, so the time was right.

Same here. Only time I spend any meaningful time near the bubble is around update time. This time, I finished topping up my data and manufactured materials including Guardians, and now I'm just poking around about 4000 ly away waiting.

I couldn't wait for Odissey in the bubble. I'd become crazy.

So I decided to leave again, this time for a very long, long trip. At the moment I'm not even landing on planets, just going, going, going away. I'll stop "running" when I'll be at least 20k from the bubble, then I'll start looking again under every rock as my usual way to explore, that is, explore EVERYTHING.

So, yes, I can really relate to your exploration itching :)

I got itchy sensors at the end of November last year, shortly after I returned from my first exploration trip...

Originally, I decided to go to Colonia, but instead ended up doing a circumnavigation around the Galaxy... I am now in my last leg of my trip, returning via Sagittarius Carina Arm...

To be honest, I am already starting to miss my FDL and some pew pew action... :)

The 'two-week' rule applies here also. I got back from a year and a half out on March 25. Basically I'm just culling some old ships and going out of salvage/collection runs to restock some inventory. My last 4 months before returning I was working low mass "trash" stars and found a few surprises and will probably continue that once Odyssey hits, provided Frontier doesn't make me kill 10,000 Thargoids before I'm allowed to buy a oxygen tank for my suit.

I can't spend a great deal of time in occupied space. Even when I come across a discovered system, I feel dread.
When in the Bubble, I'm thinking, "its too busy here."
Then you have all the system messages, yada yada. It's all too much, and I head back out. Away from the plague of humanity, and into the calm black.
I just left Explorer's Anchorage, and now I'm going simply bounce around, and hopefully I'll stumble into an undiscovered 100+ body system.
