Concept Map

@Cl4ssMammalia #54 is a tunnel under the river. The left and right ends will begin stairs that head down to the tunnel under the river. At least, that's the plan. When building, I might not be able to do this and will change to an overhead bridge instead. All plans are tentative for now. Thanks for responding.

Really like your map...
It looks like a really big zoo...

Just 1 concern, are you sure about your staff areas:
Are there enough zoo keepers areas and won't the zoo keepers be travelling too much to prepare food and cleaning enclosures?
Especially the lower left part: warthogs/elephants/rhinos/ostriches/zebra, that's a lot of poo/cleaning/feeding in 1 part...

Just curious :p And if you make such a zoo, please share the pics !!

@NL_Mutso Yes, I agree. I tried to plan it so that every keepers hut only handled 4 habitats at most, but, after play testing, I might need to add more. Do you know whether or not a big keepers hut that can handle more keepers, can all be assigned to the same habitats. If I Have a big keepers hut for those big habitats could I assign one keeper (or maybe two) to one big habitat?

I think it does.. but it's too long ago when I played PZ to be sure

How about you add something like this in 'crowded' parts ?? Looks like a part of the enclosure this way....

I've decided to show you my zoo concept map. I researched zoo concept maps online and when I found one that I thought might fit, I copied it to my zoo file. Then I compared each, trying to determine which best suited my needs and wants. The one I used, I added and subtracted here and there to make it what I want. I wanted to give credit to the original but, when I went back online, I couldn't find it again. Whoever did the original did an excellent job, so thank you. I hope it shows up in here and is somewhat legible.

I mean wow, that is some serious work there. Amazing job, I can't wait to see it in the game!

Wow, nice work @dannydanbo 😃
I think you inspired me to give making a zoo map a try once I have my own zoo.

I look forward to see how your zoo is going to turn out. Be sure to share your progress on the forums! 😊

There are larger keeper huts but it is just so more staff can work in it at a time instead of just 1, when you have a large habitat like my tiger one that I made during beta
I had to have 2 keepers assigned to this at all times, so I had 1 keeper hut and a staff room assigned, and manually told 1 keeper to only tend to cleaning poop and the other was for both feeding and cleaning poop, and never had issues, however because I had a stream going around the one side of my enclosure the keepers do not walk in water, so if i wanted to make it more functional for the keepers I should have made a bridge that goes across the river, because to feed the tigers them would always need to walk all the way around the river... lol
Just make sure you have enough keepers on poop cleaning duty, you really only need 1 keeper for feeding on habitats that have only 1 species of creature but probably require one for each individual animal species if you have multiple animals, maybe 1 keeper per 2 species to feed. Always make sure you have staff rooms included too, because everyone uses a staff room, and if everyone needs a break then wont do anything for your animals...The small staff rooms could be used by a lot of staff not at the same time but like over time, just need to make sure you have enough staff rooms so is to not have overflow, I think having the larger staff rooms will help significantly.

Thank you @wowman I want to add a second station that allows guests to leave the train to visit the far side of the zoo. I'll probably place it between 29 and 31 where that green area is. It will become a food court that connects the train station to the nearby path. Do the other two rides (jeep and boat) also require a second station or are they more adventure rides for sight seeing?
Not sure - I never had a chance to test those in the beta

@wowman I saw a couple of Betas and the track made a loop from the station, through the habitat, back to the station, but I don't know if the guests complained that the ride was short.

Launch day needs to get here quickly. I'm on my forth edited version of my original map. By Tuesday, I might be on the fifth or sixth. :D

To keep everyone interested up to date (and maybe keep me from changing it again), I decided to post the current plan. I also am posting a picture I found on the Facebook site someone had posted that is the inspiration for the new building in the center of my zoo.

@NL_Mutso Thanks. I like this version, too. I especially like separating the Elephants, Giraffes and Zebras into their own habitats. I'm thinking about trying to create a big rhino head on top of those two waterfalls near the boat station. It all depends on how good I am at manipulating the gound. I am a bit surprised that with all the building controls available in the game, that you can't size things up or down. Or have I missed that feature?

Don't say I didn't warn you guys. Version #5. Mainly added a Brown Bear habitat and a Red Panda Habitat (please don't post any more cute animals on FaceBook, I'm running out of room). ;)

I know I'm late to the party and my feedback is in no way meant for you to change anything,
I come from an german-zoo standpoint and I don't know if it's different where you live, But we almost never have habitats / exhibits across from each other. At least not in view point. We have a habitat on the left, then a little way without you seeing an animal, then a habitat on the right, a little way and so on. I guess the reason is to optimize guest flow and not have anyone run from one side to the other constantly.

I can't see it exactly, but does your zoo have a tour where you can see every animal without going back and fourth?
