Concern about how many rides there will be in the game

I don't mind the UI. The search function is nice. A recently used tab may come in handy as more and more content is introduced. As others have said it is nice now because I know exactly where a certain piece is. Once we get new themes it may get a big trickier just because we aren't used to where things are. One thing I did not enjoy about RCT3 was the menu when placing scenery. Like mentioned before a recently used tab would be nice but not required. Duplicate option helps a lot. Now if you can get the duplicate to keep the x,Y, z rotation to he object you're duplicating, I'd be content ;)

Speaking or organization, does the current alpha feel "OK" in terms of where items are placed / sorted in the UI?

I think it's pretty easy to find what you want. I would place the "Facilities" section somewhere else, like in the "Shop" categorie. The scrolling to see more things is okay so far, takes a bit long maybe (scrolling speed needs to be increased).

But what about a bigger window when choosing an attraction, coaster or scenery? Maybe it should be double as high?

Yes I have. The building items and scenery item UI's is a mess in silence. Themed decoration objects are random mixed up between scenery and Buildings depending on what pirate scenery you developers seems to like to integrate with Buildings. Although all pirate scenery are in a Think-outside-the-box context possible to combine with Buildings. They should be consequent a scenery item or building item sorted together in one section. Makes it really hard to find all pieces today.
In the building wall section, there is a ton of objects that consequently should been placed in another section because they are not wall and does not act like walls. Similar acting items exist in the extra section for pillars and stuff. Please put them consequently there.
And last, there is related signs that are splitted up between scenery signs and building signs that should be sorted together. The small version can be in one section and the big version in the other. It is very notable the signs for buildings attaches to walls and the scenery signs are freely placed on ground and that all non wall-attached signs in the building wall section should be moved to the scenery sign section.

I've made at least 2 threads about this in the feedback forum earlier this year. Like talking to deaf eared people in that forum section sadly when wanting do discuss UI and comprehensive sorting.

Yes I agree with you Gysan, i think the organisation of the building parts and scenery is a bit weird and confused. I do like the style of the UI though, I think it's nice.

Are there going to be other types of rides, other than the flats and the coasters? Like easy rides, transport rides, water based rides? Like in RCT3, you had 6 or 7 categories of rides.

I swear I saw in a stream someone was using a filter for the building and scenery pieces, could you maybe confirm that I wasn't seeing things. Thanks

Do you mean a search function? As that is already in the game [happy]

No, a full on filters tab, where he could pick the theme and it would only show that theme. But this is off memory so i may be wrong.

Yes I think there is a filter that kind of works. I remember finding it once and being surprised because I knew it definitely didn't work in alpha 1.

There is a filter, just it's a bit hidden out of the way with the UI and quite hard to see.

I agree with a few posters here, it is a bit confusing what comes under the buildings tab and what counts as scenery and what is decorations etc. Fewer horizontal tabs and more prominent filter checkboxes for object type and theme would be better imo.

Yes, I will add that despite those confused organisation errors I listed, the design of the games UI is clean and nice. I love those symbolic icons for different categories. [happy]
