Conda... What did I do.

Well, thanks to the find of several Void Opal hotspots Im sorting this brand new Conda. Now since I sence I started playing I have always wanted these "Thors Hammer" these bringers of Death. Well, I spent the extra cash and A and B leveled everthing and what do I have? A g Battleship. This thing turns like a fat chick all hooped up on Peperment Schnips. My god, why did I ever fear these whales? Now to my question, how the hell do I fight this thing? Flight mode off I assume, boost turn, but these thing are bad right? Please let me know how to battle this thing. Hugo Out~

Fighting in the big ships is somewhat a different animal than fighting in a smaller ship, requiring a modification of tactics. Effective engineering plays a large role and helps balance out some of the drawbacks of trying to fight in a large ship. Ability to fight using F/A off becomes a factor as well since a ship with F/A turned off turns/rotates faster in X/Y/Z. For the CMDR new to large ships, attempting combat in an unmodified, less than A-rated ship fitted for anything else but pure combat is a ride in the short bus to the rebuy screen. o7

Well I guess im guilty of listing to my own perceived notion's... Ok, So it handles like a turd, I guess what I would like to have then is a "Imperial Star Destroyer" What in ED is that? The Cutter? An Engineered Conda? I guess what I want is a Aww factor that strikes fear in the NPC's hear when I jump in. What is that?

Have you looked at the Corvette? It's my personal favorite large ship for combat.

It is not the arrow that wins battles, it is the Indian. A competent pilot in a less capable ship can beat an untrained pilot in a Death-Star. Git Gud and as your combat skills develop you will find yourself depending less and less on your ship, more and more on your combat skills as a pilot. o7

Still a bit small for a star destroyer

Considering the options that are actually usable, I think that size is a non-addressable issue.

Except the Cutter.

I'd take the Cutter's agility all day every day over the T9.

The conda is an awesome big ship I can't live without. I have 2: Battle conda for merit farming (PvE) and Jump conda for bubble jumping, engineering big modules. However, I dont expect to win PvP duels vs medium ships. I would consider using the battle conda in a PvP wing situation, but not as a lone ranger.

I love the anaconda but I don't think of it as an "upgrade" for combat over combat focused medium ships. It does big ship things mediums can't but still fights good once you are used to it. When looking for a fight is my objective though, I use something else.

Actually thought the Conda was quite agile for its size, but I did upgrade from T9 so everything is more agile than the T9.

Once....this was the step. Everybody who has bought an Anaconda was flying a Type-9 before. In times past, nobody thought that the Anaconda moves like a dying whale.
Now that's years ago. Today everybody just press skip and fly Anaconda. Than they are really surprised.

My Annie is as same old than 1.4 and i've never regret it! She's one ultimate ship :D

For OP:
You can fly the Annie very well, if you have a decent Hotas and Pedals to control every possible thrust direction with analoge precision at the same time. You NEED to do more than just W A S D to make here great ;)
(Just in case you fly KB+M, really....it's bad)

There is no playable equivalent to such a ship in ED.

All of our ships are relatively small compared to capital ships or any other warship that would need a significant crew.

The Big Three are the equivalents of corvettes, small destroyers, or small frigates. Even the Cutter is something that you'd put inside a Star Destroyer equivalent, not an equivalent to one.
