Confess your sins. Which exploits have you used?

*Stands up looking apologetic*

"Hi my name is Tartan Dragon and I've used so called exploits."

*wipes sweat from brow*

"I did a few Robigo runs" Murmur from those sitting around. "I even did a couple of runs from Sothis." Gasps of horror from the seated group.

"I can only say I'm sorry and with your support I am sure you and I can kick this disgusting habit. Thank you for your time."

*Sits down.*

The 1t selling was to counter the effects of combat mission modeswitch exploits during one war i had an interest in. I did it for a faction uninvolved in the conflict to leach influence from both sides, mitigating the extreme effect the combat missing stackers had.

Combat missions have never affected faction influence...after extensive tests and confirmation on the BGS thread i'm surprised you did not know this. Combat bonds only and even then only in their own system etc.
Handing in 1 bounty at a time was the war exploit used by player factions not mission stacking.

I have seen results that suggest otherwise.

I am ashamed to say that I use an awful lot of 3rd party programs to find stuff that would take absolutely ages in game.
I'm really sorry.

My play style allows me to utilise exploits because I like big ships and my average credits per hour is very low. If it wasn't for these get rich quick methods I would see little to no progress. The payback for planetary exploration is not credits.

Apart from 3rd party programs to help me find resources I have never knowingly exploited.

Although in 1984 I did buy a cassette tape with a saved game on it to get a bog standard cobra with a docking computer on it. Was damn hard to dock back then!

I haven't played this boring grindy game for months, so that's my admission - a sort of lengthy combat log I guess.

I've liberated a few slaves in Robigo I have to admit. Although I paid for that later, as I accidentally tanked my Sirius rep in the process, which came back to haunt me when Engineers arrived.
And on my PC account I've had a couple of holidays in Quince. Other than that, I'm clean, promise. Apart from mode switching to stack missions, if that actually counts.

edit: And the premium ammo bug, but I don't PvP so I was ONLY CHEATING MYSELF.

I've done a few, but I wouldn't consider then major. I've not done any excessively.

•I've relogged for missions a few times, mainly because I find it annoying if there a no decent missions. But I rarely do it to stack high paid ones.
•I've done a few Robigo runs, mainly for fun. Profit was a bonus.
•I did relog my way to getting UFs from an Anaconda crash site. Mainly because I couldn't find UAs anywhere, despite trying.
•I pulled the plug on an NPC, because I was stuck in my vehicle hangars elevator. :p

All in all, I avoid "cheats" because they ultimately ruin games for me.

Rares in Beta for the princely sum of about 1m cr - so I could by a Cobra MKIII. It was supposed to be getting wiped, and didn't really see it as an exploit.

There was also the Great Seeking Luxuries Unicorn Run™ of 3301. I did that one, as I really wanted to fly the Python before the Nerf Hammer™ smashed it to bits. I did about 120m cr worth - enough to buy a Python, and A-rate the power plant, thrusters and FSD. Funnily enough, that exploit isn't even close in money making as some proper missions these days.

Was worth it - that Python was a heck of a ship, and did, indeed, need a nerf. I then went exploring for 9 months, so I deem my dues paid in full.

Mode switched to get more missions - they were drying up and I didn't want to depart with the hold any emptier than it needed to be.

Haven't needed to for a while though, these days even a half full hold turns a decent profit :).

Actually, Robigo *was* fun. I'd love to see properly hard, super well paying smuggling missions. I have no problem with high paying missions, but you should have to work for it. The scan=fail thing sure had me on edge a few times as I boosted through the letter box to avoid the scan, and then prayed I could pull up in time to not obliterate my ship on that impaling pale at the back of the station...

I was delivering some slaves in CG, Ponny Princess wanted them to be free. But, huge reward from local faction on the same station was offered to me to sold them further away. Big money, so...

Have to agree with you Robigo and Maia long range smuggling were my favourite missions pre 2.1 being chased by pirates and the police across 300 to 400 ly in a 30ly jump ship at best avoiding that one scan that failed the mission , and then having to boost into the station at the end. I remember a couple of deliveries were to outposts that had a large police or miltary presence high speed silent running to the pad and then praying you could get into the hanger before being scanned on the landing pad fun times.

And yes I did make alot of credits but it was alot more fun than the poo hauling that replaced it
