I'm torn, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to care or not..
To be honest, if you’d played Elite since 1984 (though as a relative young ‘un I was barely a glint in the milkman’s eye then so I joined the party with FE2 on my fondly remembered Amiga 1200) I can’t imagine much more to be hyped for than the realisation of our Lord and Saviour Braben’s vision for the game.
And even if you only start from the release of ED then haven’t space-legs and Elite-feet been one of the consistently most demanded features by the community?
Then again, if the OP isn’t interested maybe I’m horribly wrong and should uninstall immediately...

Like the OP, I'll probably wait until Odyssey is on sale before buying it, and right now I'm not even playing ED, but obviously I care about ED (including Odyssey) or I wouldn't be here.
