Connecting to Frontier Servers Without Bringing Down VPN

Same problem here with ProtonVPN, I find a solution with "Split tunneling".
Work fine, but killSwitch not available/

I'm curious. If I use my VPN and say log it to London instead of Perth, will I see more online players? I.e. Will I get their (UK) instances?
