Connection problems

Hi folks

since last week I have been unable to run ED due to connection issues:
1 : it takes a long time to connect to the server
2 : when it does run it disconnects when ever a connection is needed in game - system view, commodities etc

Ive ran ipconfig /renew etc

I have contacted my ISP (Vodafone)
I watch HD films (youtube) with little or no problems
Ive checked my firewall setting and tried turning it off

I run avast basic

can anyone think of any thing else

Personally I've very rarely had issues outside of a known outage (he says firmly holding on to the wooden desktop).

Having said this, a mate of mine was having loads of problems but he got better connectivity after changing his DNS to a public domain one instead of his ISP's default. Just do a google search on "public DNS servers". but only change this if you are comfortable with changing it (and putting it back if it makes no difference).

Disclaimer, I have no idea if this will help, but its an easy check to make and revert if it doesn't.

It's afigging Frontier Server(s) issue. (they have admitted a bug exist which apparently is solved in 2.2, but 2.2 beta testers are not so sure as it is happening in 2.2 beta!

The weird thing is I can go weeks without disconnects. Until I wing-up that is, then its every 15 minutes or so, regardless of whom I wing with. And I can play other p2p games with the same people with absolutely zero issues...

Fair enough, and I hope 2.2 fixes it for those having issues. I was just passing on what a fellow commander I know said helped him a lot.

I feel we must continue to push these threads until the issues are at least somewhat better than they stand currently, or get completely resolved.

I bought Elite Dangerous because I played Elite as a kid, I bought a copy for my brother (Horizons!, as I purchased it for myself too) in hopes we could wing up and do some cool stuff.

How disappointing it is

I still love the game, just want what was offered to be working properly
