connectivity issues today making the game unplayable

Anybody know what's going on?

I'm in the US/ comcast xfinity ISP, and the game is barely working. Game is super slow to load, system maps not loading, refinery is processing minerals 60-90 seconds after it fills up, prospector limpets launching 20-30 seconds after I press the button, mission boards not loading, etc etc.

I have no solution, but I experienced similar problems. I'm also on Comxast Xfinity. While being interdicted, the usual Xbox jitters became more like a Thargoid attack, and the screen jumped around uncontrollably. While mining with a partial load, the connection to the server was lost, resulting in a re-login and immediate interdiction (PvE).

Game plays fine locally, but anything that draws on the server is badly lagged. Here's a non-exhaustive list:
  • FSJ takes an abnormally long time to complete.
  • Ship outfitting UI takes an abnormally long time to load
  • Switching modules/hardpoints in the outfitting UI takes 30-60 seconds per item
  • Trading materials at a material trader takes 30-60 seconds per stack.

I've been having some issues as well. The game overall has been "jittery". Longer jump times, limpets taking longer to launch, etc. Normally I have difficulties as out I'm in the country on Hughesnet satellite, but lately has been more difficult. - Cmdr Mercillus

I've been having the issues for several days but since other computers in the house have the same issue with other connections, I assumed it was network issues. Seems several different ISPs are reporting issues for the past week around metropolitan areas of the US. Probably due to more people working playing from home.

Me too. For the past two days its been worse. I'm a Comcast customer also and my location has had very stable internet for years (until lately).

In my case its worse with ED and even the Frontier Forums are occassionally very slow to load images. But I can go to a you-tube video and everything seems normal.

I read a few days ago, people worried the added load on the internet may cause slowdowns and other issues due to the virus quarantines. Tividar's list applies here also.
