Powerplay Considering returning to PP to exploit the broken mechanics

I spent 11 weeks fighting for Mahon, hearding cats, contributing heavily to the seb-reddit etc, but left after it became apparent how broken and bias the system was.

However after realising just how broken and bias it is (much worse than I thought), I am now considering returning to PP and pledging to Arissa Lavagny-Duval, who I hate. Apparently the most money can be made by expansions due to the massive staking bonuses. So I could just pledge and then hit all the most terrible expansions available. Thus making myself stacks of cash, whilst doing minor damage to power. Of course I can do this is solo as well so can exploit the crap out of PP broken mechanics in peace.

I might even pick up one of the only good PP weapons (both Empire of course) in the process.

Thoughts?

You will be far from the only player pledged to ALD doing this. The vast majority of our supporters already are. We can't tell the difference between selfish merit grinding and 5th columnists, the numbers are so big.

No doubt.

But if you have some handy resources you can point me to about 'how to maximize personal profit whist doing sod all for the power' I would be most obliged.

(I am still pretty of new to this game, BTW, especially to the Power Play side of things.)

one of the things I love about the forums is "A cat may look at a king".

Saool was one of the leaders of the Reddit player groups.
Where PowerPlay activity is actually organised and strategically thought out and analysed.

He is not just another player.

There are maybe two dozen people worth listening to on the topic of PowerPlay.
Saool would be in the top six for me.

Saool and Cadoc quitting their efforts is not a couple of ticks in a statistic. It's a minor tragedy.

That one of the Alliance leaders is publicly contemplating defection is significant.

It it may well be, that the only way to make Fdev pay attention to the balance of PowerPlay.

Is to join ALD and wreck FDev's precious Empire from within.

Twenty high end players.

And they'd make an absolute fortune.

Ok I'm new to power play and I've pledged to Duval as I'm a bounty hunter type player. Can anyone explain what this Crime sweep cash/merit grind exploit is?
Right now it's my first week and I've only just pledged and am undermining to pick up merits to get up a few ranks.
