Console Profile Copy Process | Release Plan

Today is the 1st, the article says hopefully the 12th so us console players will have to wait to transfer. The last time us console players had to wait for Odyssey I have a vague memory that it didn't quite go as was expected....

I'm sure all will be fine, what could possibly go wrong 💥

To support this, we would like to give you early insight into our plan to incorporate a sale on cosmetics on the Elite Dangerous store, which coincides with the lead up to profile copying taking place.

The exact date of this sale, as with the specifics on the release of the console copy portal will be made known in due course.

So, does anyone know how I could become a test CMDR? I have a PC account already with the same name as my Xbox that I would like to migrate my console profile to, or I could have it under a different CMDR name (it really doesn't make a difference to me either way). Thanks for this FDev!

ok please restore my ED on xbox, it was purchased by me, not a freebie with game pass and it has been removed- very annoyed you cannot steal a product
back that is owned by a customer

Greetings Commanders!

This is it! We opened the door to September!
As mentioned in this week's Discovery Scanner, this month is absolutely a one for some quite large scale events, one specifically being the console profile copy process, with the release of the console profile copy portal.

We have the latest news on our targeted release plan for console profile copy portal in place for you today, which you can absorb over in the following post: www.elitedangerous.com/news/console-profile-copy-process-release-plan.

For those of you with questions around the other big bit of Galaxy-keeping, '4.0', outside of console copying - We're working on the release plan for this too it and will be back with specifics in dedicated communications as soon as possible.
Still on track though!

Keep looking up (or...down. Who knows when you're up in space, I know)!

o7 Commanders.
If I have an existing pc account, can I transfer my stuff to the pc account? Or does it have to be a new pc account?

You can but, you need to erase the PC account first, so its blank for the copy over.

See the original FAQ:

A quick note to any players transferring over to PC, be sure to check out the excellent array of third-party tools that both help you play the game in faster, better and more varied ways, but also contribute to the pool of data that enables those tools.

You can get started over at https://edcd.github.io/ (the icons are links to each tool). There's also https://edcodex.info/ , although you might find some of the tools haven't had their information maintained very well there. Obviously there's also the sub-forum for such things here https://forums.frontier.co.uk/forums/elite-api-and-tools/ .

Sally,
Thank you so very much for the update on console transfers. I am so excited!!! We appreciate all the work everyone there has done for the community!

Is it possible you deleted the game? If that's the case you should just be able to use the Xbox store's search function, find Elite: Dangerous and slect it. When the games main screen pops up, the on-screen button that usually says "Buy", should say "Download" with a little note in asterisks saying "You already own this".

Hopefully that's all that happened.

Is this going to be a limited time thing, or once established can we transfer at any point? If there's a "wimdow" then I'm out of luck because I haven't actually got a PC...

Say I get a PC in like, mid-2023 do I still get to transfer my CMDR?

It's going to be limited time, but I'm pretty sure you won't actually need a pc now. Just request the transfer once the process is active and your pc account will be there. Once you get a pc, download using your account email and details from the transfer.

No is not possible, it was removed from game pass and that deleted the game.
You probably want to speak with Xbox/Microsoft support instead of Frontier. They develop the game, but this sounds like you may be having a problem with your Microsoft account. All previously purchased games are tied to your MS account name now. If somethings missing, I doubt it's something FDev can fix.

I hope you're able to get E:D restored on your Xbox!

So it would be linked to the Frontier account rather than a PC copy of the game, so if I got a PC later down the line I could just get a new PC copy of Elite and then link my Frontier account, and everything will be there?
