Some question, I’ve read that the Xbox controller mapping is a one to one copy from console is this right? So when I plug in a Xbox controller all mechanics works like on Xbox? No new mapping? Or are there some functions which must be mapped at all?

Because at the moment on mouse and keyboard, the game feels weird for me (as an console player) I missed the simple controller inputs
Alternate controller 1 is exactly the same as default console classic.

Thanks, but this means only Xbox controller right?

Because on PlayStation the touchpad works in elite like 4 separate buttons, two for switching the firegroups forward and backward. And fast navigate to navcom and the right panel.

Hopefully there is a workaround on Xbox controller for that

Apparently the PS ctrlr does work on PC (never tried it myself) but the touch pad doesn't from what I've heard.
There is a rumblepack in the Xbox ctrlr but I don't have it enabled on PC.
Bigger issue is hitting A when the screen tells me to hit X

It theoretically works for ps5 controller too, I've tried many many times to get it to work perfectly and occasionally it does but that's through steam which more often than not defaults to xbox.

i dunno personally the xbox controller rattles like crazy on a hyperjump so i have it off always
Ok, but it rumbles on pc ? Some guys told me, that there is no vibration function on pc.

I know it’s a stupid question, but I’ve lived with this function for almost the beginning of elite on PlayStation, it would be feeling weird.. 😂

(On Odyssey) You can have a controller plugged in, as well as other HOTAS too - you can configure the setup as you want but the controller appears to be the default option so far (along with mouse & keyboard options). Certainly the default for the on foot bits when you select the "Controller..." control profiles

N.B. XB cmdr & XB controller

You should be able to plug in your Xbox controller to the computer, and it works almost exactly the same as it did on Xbox. That's all I did. Some things needed to be mapped/remapped, as they're different on PC. But the ship controls are identical, walking is intuitive, and the SRV's are a little bit different and may need some remapping for personal preferences.

My preference is for HOTAS for ship & SRV and Xbox controller for foot & FSS.

Thank for that.

So it is clear i need a Xbox Controller.
