I need to wait for my carrier to finish decommissioning. 😬 Let's hope it's not a short term thing...
 
I'd be interested in what the response is. The transfer/copy isn't just about wealth and customisation. What about ships, modules and reputations/progress?
 
What do you mean you've submitted your transfer ticket?
I thought there was going to be a portal where we could request this transfer so that we didn't have to submit individual transfer tickets to FDev customer services
As per the link subsequently shown. I didn't really know about a portal, but I don't think (hope) that's a shooting offence.

I'm not in a rush so if I need to resubmit in a different then no big deal, and Frontier Customer Services are a pretty intelligent bunch, from experience.

There's a bit of a difference between using the standard Wealth Transfer ticket and the FULL Profile Transfer that is going live from tomorrow.

One of the differences being that the linked form requires you to actually give the FID of the PC version of the game where you'd like to do the transfer. Which makes zero sense for the upcoming console transfer since it will grant you a free copy with a brand new FID anyway. So yeah, this is definitely not a relevant link and should be ignored at this point.

No offense intended, I just wondered if you knew something we didn't. There's a lot of excited people for this copy process.

I only highlighted that because a subsequent post state, there may be a difference between to two processes.
I'm sure they'll come back to you and ask if that is really what you want to do or copy your profile.
 
I thought they were giving transferred CMDRs free copies of EDH? Why is it asking for my PC FID if I don't have it yet? Do I have to buy a copy to initiate the transfer? Thanks for any help CMDRs!

edit: I guess waiting until tomorrow is the best bet.

There's a bit of a difference between using the standard Wealth Transfer ticket and the FULL Profile Transfer that is going live from tomorrow.

There's also a nice little box where you can add further information, which I did. Which I sent before news of tomorrow got out.

Anyways how do you know the difference if you haven't used it yet? 🤣
 
It's rather concerning to see the amount of incorrect / incomplete information flying around this thread without company intervention, made worse, I think, by the decision to split official communication between the website and the forum. There may indeed be some (niche) cases where the OG wealth transfer is the better or more efficient option but we shouldn't be left to figure this out amongst ourselves mere hours before the process begins! For those who may need to open a ticket / deal with Support, just be direct (but courteous!) and expect to restate the issue a few times before getting a resolution.

Earlier this year, around the time of the last sale, I bought another copy of Odyssey by itself, intending for it to go along with the free Horizons license when the process starts. Not being an avid PC user until very recently, I thought I could just buy it on any old account and assign it to the new transfer account later, or have multiple accounts / licences all in one place like on PS4. So, I made the purchase on my existing PC Frontier store account... quickly realising what I hadn't understood.

Anyway, I needed a refund so that I could make a new account and buy it again, and although I did eventually get it all sorted, it took several email exchanges with Support for them to fully understand what I was asking for. To be clear, they were wonderfully gracious and accommodating once it was clear what I was asking for, but it did take a few days and I was surprised that the team didn't seem to have been briefed or trained on what seems like such an obvious pitfall to expect from those of us coming from console.

Because one is the standard process used for transferring only wealth and Livery Items which I have already looked into when I was considering my options well over a year ago.

And the other is the new Console Transfer Portal, which is not active yet as it goes live tomorrow according to the latest news and is a full cloning of console profiles (minus FC+Arx).

They have stated multiple times that any console player who owns a licensed copy of ED will receive a free copy of ED Horizons during the transfer process (y)
I assume this will be in the form of a download link for the Frontier Store.

Alas the weekly demands to know where CG rewards are 5 minutes after the end of a CG tell us this reading thing will never catch on.
I expect Customer Support has already been overrun with transfer requests and is preparing for the inevitable avalanche of "What happened to my account!?!" Posts...

So you've only seen one a year ago, under different circumstances (and have forgotten the additional information boxes), so therefore can see a 'difference' with this to something you haven't seen yet. Confusing.

Thankfully Prostetnic Vorgon Jelz isn't an employee of Frontier, and commonsense can be applied to this process, rather than filling in the correct form in triplicate etc.

Unlike some, I don't see the drama here, and very little cause for concern. It'll just take longer than some would like. Probably. And I doubt that customer service will be overrun, as how many will actually use this feature? Tens of...
