Console to PC full migration

With the abandonment of console update, many will likely just drop the game and move on. One way to maybe fix part of this loss would be a way to fully migrate Commanders to PC and not just credits. ships research mats discoveries permits, everything. For me, this is the only way I would switch to PC and keep playing.

Pretty sure, they did the following:

Method 1:
Players on Consoles: 2000 and decreasing
Players on PC: 2000000
ARX Income on PC: Billions
ARX Income on Consoles: not so much (no weapon/suit skins...)
Costs for Full migration Consoles to PC: more than ARX Income on Consoles

Decision: negativ ROI -> No need to do it

Method 2:
Development Costs for consoles '21 to YTD vs. budget: too much
Develpment Costs for PC '21 to YTD: too much
Potential cuts: See method 1

(Numbers only as example)
(Way of decision finding might be different in reality)

Don't get me wrong... I don't think it is a dicision against Consoles, its a pro PC decision.
How they did it was not ok. They let the console players in the dark for month. Players payed money and bought ARX. Sure, they can keep playing the game, but somewhere in the future, it can't compete to the PC version in any way (graphics, content, story)

Giving a "Move to PC for FREE" Option would have been a good way to keep at least some of the players.
From a management perspective, it was right, from a player / reputation perspective, it's nearly as dumb as the invasion of Ucrania...

Transferring the commander might not be possible. One reason is that as the announcement states Frontier is not stopping ED on consoles. They continue the support and delivering critical update so the game will go on as currently. There will be no new content however and definitely no Odyssey. If they were closing the console version, it would make sense to offer full character transfer. I moved from PS4 to PC few months ago and just transferred some money. I found starting from scratch a bit confusing but also exciting due to odyssey content. I could start differently and went in a totally different path.

Losing everything I bought with real money and my ARX (99k) is one of the big ones. Those don't transfer. There wont be anything new in the ARX shop to spend it one. They already got my money and I got the bird. My mistake for trying to show support for them with my wallet. And my thought on what a critical updates are is that it is just what they have to do to make sure it still functions when the consoles get an update.

I'm sure they could figure out a way to transfer accounts across with very little trouble. It would at least look a little bit less like giving the console community the big old "mr 2 fingers".

Before making any judgement either way, Sony & Microsoft's terms regarding the issue need to be ruled out. Yes they have allowed crossplay in particular instances but I'm not sure how that deal was done as it's not standard, and consoles manufacturers like exclusivity, the fact it was such a big deal that crossplay was enabled for a couple of games shows that much.

If it turned out that FDev's hands are tied by Sony & Microsoft in regards to account migration, any complaints about the issue really are for Sony & MS, and good luck with that. I would be reasonably sure FDev have approached them over the issue, and if not, they probably should, too.

Conversely, if it turned out that there are no such restrictions for FDev then it is really a matter to resolve internally and I can't see anyone having any issue with it being a one-time circumstantial deal for console users.

Either way, I hope a full migration path is found.
