General / Off-Topic Constant stupid movie reboots

There are quite a few watchable Cthulhu movies. All low budget of course. They range from comedy horror to more serious. There are some very good cosmic horror movies some of which are Lovecraftian. There's also a few where the writers have said 'yeah, it's Cthulhu we just didn't want to pay for the rights".

The reboot is the industry's strategy of selling a successful product once again with less risk than launching something new. Hollywood, games industry, comic book series. Have you maybe noticed how authors once they land a success tend to serialise their success? Same thing. But essentially, it's publishers minimising risk while rolling higher chances of success. Most prominent was the extreme dominance of "new" movie stuff that fed itself from Marvel & Co. during the last quarter century. Imagine that a quarter of a century of uninspriring remakes of comic books - this "trend" is definitely not new.
