There is some worry about not being able to change Superpower and Power allegiances once set. I've just rewatched the stream from 19:23 onwards and whilst it mentions that a benefit of the Faction Allegiance is the nice BGS summary page for that minor faction within the squadron UI, it didn't say anything about actual benefits/intent behind the Superpower and Power allegiances.
There are the separate tags for showing potential recruits, or anyone else browsing, who you play for, so it surely can't be simply that ?
So, are there any current plans for the Squadron allegiances to Superpower and Power to have gameplay consequences? And if there are not, then given this is a purely cosmetic thing, why lock a Squadron in to not being able to change these allegiances?
The particular scenario in mind is an Independent Squadron/Minor Faction that might occasionally get caught up in Power Play meaning they need to temporarily align themselves with a Power and as a result a Super Power. Once that particular conflict is over they no longer need to be so aligned and more importantly in the future they might encounter similar need where they need to be aligned with different Superpower and/or Powers.
Edit: Some discussion has suggested that perhaps these allegiances are only of note for the Squadron Leaderboards? An FDev staff member on the EDCD discord has also said they've forwarded the query to the design team, thanks!
