News Content Recap: Beyond - Chapter Four Livestream - Mining and Squadrons

Thanks for taking the time to go through these changes for everyone o7
Two questions:
1) How will the new mechanics affect mining in Belt Clusters? Can 'mother lodes' be found there?
2) Suppose I find hotspots with my exploration ship equipped with a DSS but want to come back with my dedicated mining ship - without a DSS will I still be able to see the hotspots that were revealed from the earlier scan?

my only issue is, it appears they did away with res sites. Since that is the Combat player's bread and butter.. i guess they want combat players to leave? our income is already horrible as it is. forcing us into CZ's that pay practically nothing is a sure fire route to uninstallation en masse

to be clear, are they removing the resource extraction sites?

I pray they aren't.

I really hope they remove both and turn them into something that changes place, expires and findable via the new tools.
It has never made sense to have these generic static neverending eternally spawning npc locations.

Great livestream thanks!

A quick question. Are there going to be changes to the available ship slots, perhaps dedicated mining hardpoints or utility slots on some ships that will help to fit all of these new modules? It might be a good way to help some ships like the FDS or the Type-10 to achieve a better purpose in the game.

Watching the stream VOD right now. You forgot one important type of tags for the squadrons to set up. Sperpower affiliation: Federation/Alliance/Empire/Independent.

I pray they aren't.

There are heaps and loads of new installations added, swarming with targets, and there's still compromised nav beacons (I hope ?).

I'd like info on the hardpoint sizes for the new mining tools.

Would that not be taken from the Faction that the Squadron affiliated with (assuming that the Squadron was affiliated with a Faction)?

No I mean right at the start where you search for squadrons by various tags. It has stuff like PvE/PvP, powers, etc., but not superpowers. If I want to join a squadron working for the Empire, the system would not faciliate that. Powerplay powers are no substitute for this.

Edit: Okay now I got to the part you are referring to. Well, I would extend my point to that. It looks as if you get a superpower affiliation only by selecting a power or minor faction. But I would not want to do either, but select the superpower directly.

Mining looks cool. but that is another module for mining ships. Where is the love for small/medium mining ships? Either make Prospector Limpet + Pulse Scanner into a Module or give us a limpet racket.

Also Squadrons seem interesting in Terms of Communicating between Players and Inform them about, what goes on, but I hope you intent to build upon them. Also I see you were able to raise the limit somewhat, but I don't know how I feel about the 1 Squadron per Player limit.

Are squadrons cross platform? For example, can an Xbox player join a squadron created by a PC player?

No

There are separate Squadrons for each platform and a number of groups have applied for more than one platform. Saying that, you could assign a leader for any platform and have them create the Squadron for that platform specifically.

Really pleased with the mining additions but getting a bit concerned with all the additional hardware. Is this PWA going to take up a slot, are we going to get a rack so that we can fit several size 1 modules into a size 2 or larger slot. Will I need 3 hard points for mining tools? The recap says 2 new hard point for the Abrasion Blaster and the SS Displacement Missile but is not clear about the Seismic Charge Warhead. Will this be fired from the SS Displacement Hardpoint or will it have it's own. It's not leaving a lot of room for offensive / defensive weapons, is this 'balancing' to give pirates better odds? Looking forward to the Beta where hopefully we'll find that we are going to get some help with accommodating this gear.

Will there be hardpoint size variations of the new mining toys^Wtools, and if so, how do they affect yield?

Will using more powerful mining tools potentially attract pirates?
Will it be visible at an increased range on sensors from inside the same ring?
Will their use be visible to other players in supercruise?

Will NPCs use the new tools as well?

What happens if multiple players use seismic charges on one rock? Do their charges placed be added together to determine total blasting power?

Is cracking an asteroid with seismic charges the Motherlode that Adam referred to this stream and last?

Can we get decals for miners this season?
