Copied content in steam workshop.

So how many copies of silvarrets and others work do you expect to see in the workshop? It might eventually get to be a big problem. I don't know if frontier or steam have ways of curating it, but lets put here a show of hands for everyone who will downvote copied content.

i have a solution, if you plop a blueprint, those pieces become tagged, if they are tagged they cant be used in another blueprint- problem solved.

Not a lot of the big stuff, unless they seriously upgrade the number of pieces in a blueprint.

I also think Enough people know Silvarret's work that any copied items will probably be reported and down voted into oblivion.

I think if someone uses a building from the community and gives credit to whomever created that particular building, then that's ok.....but uploading Alfheim or Boneshaker (both from Silvarret) and saying that the person who uploaded them created them, should be grounds for banishment.....cause really that's plagiarism.

There's already a report feature on workshop. Obliviously, somebody using a blueprint of a building and uploading a park is ok, especially with credit. But reuploading a blueprint is not and should be reported straight away.

We just have to vote down the copies. But it might be harder when Planet coaster reaches the masses = more people not knowing about Silvarret etc! Well I will try to read the comments, if someone says it is a copy I won't subscribe.

That means eventually no one will be able to build anything for the workshop because none of the pieces could be reused in a different building.

If I did use a blueprint from someone else (not likely...but slightly possible), I would not only give them credit, but would also make sure to call that Blueprint something with that person]s name in the title (Silvarret's Chief Beef, as an example...though honestly I would never use Silvarret's work in my park.....cause the rest of my park would look like crap compared to that one building).

I only used Silvarret as an example, but you get the idea. I'm mostly referring to people who take someone else's work, change the color, and then claim it as there own work, or maybe not even change the color. Plagiarism, to the point. I don't expect a lot of this at first, but once full release rolls around it could get bad. Just wanted to bring the topic up so everyone knows to downvote and report plagiarism if and when it happens.

If people full on copy another person's content, and posts it as their own - report it. Myself and the others here on the team will review it and deal with the content accordingly.
