Copied content in steam workshop.

In the US but we have strict copyright laws and big corporations with big lawyers who will crack down on offenders who pirate and illegally redistribute their material. The whole point of the workshop is for people to subscribe to the items to use in their parks. It should be ok to upload a park you made using some workshop items. Now, uploading someone else’s park, well you should get permission to do so. If the creator says no, then you need to respect their wishes. If the park is unfinished or has areas that need improvement, you can offer to work on the park and upload it to the workshop with the creator’s ok. Skyvador, are you the one making a Magic Kingdom? Looks great.

This is not meant to be offending, but the examples given are from the look at the steampage not really comparable. It's visible that both "steal" versions are using a different track layout, and they both don't match the same scenery. Comparing these to the "original" version, i'm asking myself...what did they steal in the end? Again, no offense meant, but could it be, that these 3 Planet Coaster players were building their work using the same reference from Disneyland Paris? What was hijacked? No one of them has the right to claim Thunder Mountain for themselves. Maybe i'm wrong, and there's some kind of genius element which was copied and not referenced...idk. But If we start comparing and complaining about "stolen" stuff, it has to be managed by professional community managers, not by users. Like in this case it leads to a certain kind of witch-hunt where all feathers are suddenly ruffled. It should be clear to ANY steam user that if you don't want your stuff stolen or copied, you DON'T load them up in the cloud. As soon as someone uses your creation and just turns a simple stone in your mile long blueprint, it's his own. And by the way, you WANT them to use your creation, don't you? If not, don't upload your parks. No one can copy screenshots and videos into their parks and claim them as their own ;)

Now, considering someone just changed some details in a blueprint and reuploaded it, considering someone is very young and uses user generated blueprints all over his park, it's not up to us as part of the community to ban or condemn them. A notice would be nice if someone uses blueprints, but this is something for his own work. The workshop is about sharing, not about getting famous. If you share something, you have to give up a bit about the ownership ;)

Doesn't the Steam Subscriber Agreement state that both Valve and any subscriber receives the same rights as the uploader and can do with it whatever they want?

Download a park, change it and upload it, it's perfectly fine for me if and only if you provide full information about the material source

By uploading it to the Steam Workshop you give all the publishing rights to Valve.

While I just like most here feel people are plain sad if they copy your content and re-upload them without any or very little modification there is not much other that you can do than report the Workshop items.

But I don't feel this forum should be the place for naming and shaming.

As has been mentioned before, if anyone thinks their blueprint has been directly copied and re-uploaded to the workshop please report it within steamstating why.

I reported it on Steam on the 8th January (a week ago) I explained the problem and shown them the screenshots that I shown here. I got nothing, not even a reply. Nice to see how much Steam cares!

I had a look through the reported workshop page, there's nothing reported these in the past 24 hours. I assume someone else, be it CS or the CM team, took care of it before me.

Hmmm I'm a little suspicious about a couple of uploads.... (I refer to them here by their initials and not their user name as I'm not sure on the forum rules)

This upload, uploaded 30 dec 2017

So I subscribed and placed them side by side...

The caves are almost identical apart from a small rock added to the rear left and a large rock added to the right.

The pizza shops are identical, with just 1 pizza slice being removed!

The ones in Sherrie's pits are still there.

The rights given to Valve and the developers go a little furter, but basically yes.
I understand that some might feel offended, finding their creations uploaded by others, but throwing law-related arguments seems a bit like using a sledgehammer to crack nuts...
Why not see it as an hommage, like they are so non-creative that they have to upload other's content. And they chose yours, so feeld honored ;)

Hi Brett,

It wasn't reported in the last 24 hours, I reported it on the 8th Jan, and heard nothing. I can't re-report it because the flag is still orange and clicking on it does nothing.
