Core Dynamics, do not speed up production, upgrade our vettes, instead

i would prefere to keep the two small bow mounts but move the side mounts in ward close to the center to the top of the mid ship part then put three stagered class 1's flanking the class 3 on the bottom.

these would make nice complimentery weapons to whatever we put in the class 3 slot on the bottom. (aka missles, torps, or lots and lots of frag cannon rounds)

Maybe, or it could make them give up on the whole idea when faced with the rank grind.

Even if you're right, it's still massively less effective than the way FDev have chosen to do it.
The way FD have chosen is to make the most expensive non rank locked ship OP and considerably better at a variety of roles than the dedicated ships.

The only thing the vette has better than the conda is the extra 5 armor rating, slightly more shields and good looks.

The 'conda has got nothing to do with the conversation about making the FGS available to newbies. But whatever.
 
I don't think it needs any kind of buff or change it has the best maneuverability over the big 3(4 if you count the t 10) which means it can keep it's guns on target the longest making up for its lowest dps of the 3(4) it has its own strengths.

I know you are talking about thargoid fighting but if the ships not working great then use a different one, if you don't have a different ship you can use then make the vette work.

Actually i have seen the actual stats of a conda and a vette using the same thrusters, the conda edges out the vette slightly.

The vette only has the extra 5 armor rating, slightly better shields and good looks in its favor.
 
If you read the posts that have been made for months on end, it seems that the better ship is the Anaconda over the Corvette. They point out the better hardpoint placement, DPS, range, cost available to all, no grind, just to name a few.

So the best combat ship, open to discussion. Range, a joke. Grind, the same thing could be said for the Cutter. Armament , see above.

Why not a QoL improvement with a 7 FSD? How does that make it overpowered? It would be nice not to have to jump 20+ times to take the Corvette from the bubble to Maia. Which I would do anyway. Just would make the game more enjoyable.

As far as armament, I would drop the 1's and the 3 and make them all 2's. The only armament worth anything in a 1 is a rail and you need to get good with fixed to be effective (against smalls).

I don't hold much hope but one can dream of change.

The first is get rid of the small hard points at the front and change those to Mediums. There is no reason such a big ship should have small hardpoints, it's ludicrous.

The second is perhaps an FSD upgrade. The damn ship is listed as being a long range deployable ship, yet it's jump range is absolutely abysmal once you start weighing it down with things it requires such as armor, ontop of an already poor jump range.

I think an extra large would be nice, then it has 2H, 2L, 2M and 2S hardpoints.

I wouldn't mind having a C7 FSD but the vette will need a bigger fuel tank as well. If instead of a C7 FSD i think giving it an extra 1-2ly onto its base jump range and a 64t fuel tank would be sufficient.
 
I think lowering its hull mass a bit and making the two small hardpoints mediums, or just adding a large (have both of them mounted like the mediums on the side perhaps). That would make the corvette seem balanced. Currently in PVP the Cutter typically just owns it because of its class 8 slots. If I had to pick one upgrade I’d say better hardpoints.
