Core Dynamics: Griffon concept. Suggestion with 3D concept

EDIT: forgot to mention to the OP, glad to see your thinking is going in a more practical direction though. If we get a "griffon" then maybe we can get a manticore, gorgon, hydra, and some other fun mythological beasties as vessels.

Still wondering why we don't really have any shark-themed ship names though...mako, tiger, thresher, hammerhead, etc etc. Perhaps a new manufacturer will explode onto the scene in our time of need...

Hydra will be a problem, since it is the name of a Thargoid Interceptor variant. Medusa is another, so Gorgon should be a "blocked" name as well. A different group of mythological creatures should work, starting with Banshee for example.

The Greek mythological creature theme is already taken by the thargoid interceptors (Cyclops, Medusa and Hydra all have Greek origins, and the name 'Basilisk' is derived from from the ancient Greek). Naming a new ship after a Greek mythological creature (i.e. Minotaur, Scylla, etc...) should be done with caution.

As for the suggestion of 'Banshee' as a name, I like it. We already have a 'Phantom', so we would only need a few more ships named after mythological spirits to solidify another naming convention :p (besides, calling something 'Banshee' makes it sound awesome)

I very much think it should stick with the Vulture's design philosophy of "strap engines to a pair of the biggest hardpoints you can get".

The griffin already exists in the Elite universe.

It's similar in scale to the Panther Clipper. Except even slower.

Griffon, not Griffin.
The Griffon is a Vulture species. Makes sense since this ship is based on the Vulture design.

But congrats on finding your way to the wiki page.

Ohhh yeah, derp. I don't fight 'Goids. Easy to forget they're out there sometimes. Scratch that then, let the baddies have the mythologicals. I still say we need sharks though.

Maybe Saud Kruger could come up with combat focused ships in addition to their passenger ships, named after sharks.

But please make another thread, don't spam mine with other stuff please x)

If possible, suggest things to add or to remove on the model and make FDev notice it lol
