Cost of a transfer to Colonia?

Why not transfer modules only?
You can buy the ship (hull) there.

Well, here's the plan. Fly a Sidewinder to Colonia, but tranfser my Krait Phantom for the journey back/further exploration. The Krait also has room for passenger cabins for exploration missions in Colonia. I can go via the station connections to transfer step by step, to cut down on final wait time.

yep, this ^

Edit: @Mrat13 you can also take the scenic route, following the Colonia HighWay.. stopping in each station along the route and do some sightseeing.
You can also transfer some ships over night

When you state: "I can go via the station connections", are you referring to there are stations one can plot all the way to Colonia? If so, where can one find the list of stations?

Fly the big stuff, ship the small stuff. Neutron jumping takes an average of about 4.5 hours to/from Colonia.

I'm using a Sidewinder as a 'challenge' for myself, because I think it's not that hard. The Krait is mainly for the exploration passenger mission when I arrive, but will also help going home.

Someone mentioned why they were flying a Sidewinder due to a reset account, with the challenge to get to Colonia. But even in a Sidewinder, getting to Colonia isn't difficult, so I don't see the 'challenge' part.

In addition to this, if you're specifically using the intermediate stations to save time (though not money) on transfers by having your ship transferred some of the way already by the time you get to Colonia and do the final transfer, you only need to worry about the ones with shipyards.
- Rohini
- Gandharvi
- Kashyapa
(And Kashyapa is only worth using if you reach it near the natural end of a sesson, and won't be back in-game until tomorrow, since it's very close to Colonia)
