While it is a fair point, I don't think their skill/knowledge levels of the game are necessarily the deciding factor - I think they're being told what the boundaries are within they can operate by the "higher ups", and they have to make do with that - although as others have suggested, given there's really not much exciting new content to play with, they could run more competitions and stuff like that, to actually engage with the community (which is their job).By what you explained, I don't feel sorry for them, not a bit. For any community manager it is imperative to know the game inside-out - yet none of them did. The highly acclaimed 'lt's have a bobblehead of him' Ed was not much better either.
Just imagine if they invited Michael Brookes to discuss the lore, or ship designers to discuss the identity of manufactures, their history. So much content to talk about, yet they try to show off lame gameplay on the fly... so sad...
Also, they could use their cluelessness to an advantage - do something crazy/unusual (maybe based on community feedback/suggestions) in the game and see how they stumble through it.
"Restarting a CMDR save" isn't exciting stuff to watch at all, we've all gone through the beginning stage of the game already at least once, unless they were simply keen to "show off" the new user experience, of which IMO there isn't all that much meat on the bone so quite difficult to fill an hour with and make it entertaining all the same.
