Costum Billboards are deactivated because of console and they often don't allow user generated content (only text)?

I was planing to create some awesome background because I am a professional animated... But I just realized you can't add costum Billboards anymore?

Really Frontier? Because if console and content control? Or because disk space requirements?

If I remember correctly there were other games that got rid of similar features because their console release....

And I am pretty sure that this applies to the Toolbox, too.
Sony and Xbox would never allow user generated stuff...

If one these reasons, than just bring the Steam Workshop back... I definitely will not buy this game till this is fixed.

It could be possible but the only thing holding me back and has me worried is the sharing of parks with console players.
Any custom images we have or music. Console players won’t be able to hear or see those in game probably.

Well with sharing of parks previously through the workshop it was an issue because the user needed to replace them. So it would tell you they were missing on load. So I'm not sure that would be the reason. I'm sad though. I thought they would be a given in the game.

But the console version didn't support download of costum Billboards? Or am I wrong?
If I remember correctly it was only on PC because it allows links to costum stuff...
And in the past the console version was a separate version, this version is now very intertwined with the console version, because it uses now frontiers workshop.

I think it would have been possible to integrate them together, but I think frontier didn't want to be responsible for what users upload, so you had to offer your own download link.
If Frontier didn't do it this way they would have to check each item for mature content, copyright breaches or stuff like that...
So it is understandable they solved it this way, but that means no more toolbox and user content in pc2

Yes, it didn't, but PC did. So console can't be a reason that PC doesn't support it.

I actually realized. WHAT IF…. the reason we don’t have custom billboards or music right now at this moment is just because the content creators got a key for early access?? Could be entirely wrong but maybe it’ll be enabled to have that stuff available at launch for PC.

Seems unlikely.... This is the review version which all game magazines got, too.

I hope they will add it later but it seems to be that they will never add it... To much legal risks.

That kinda defeats the whole purpose of them adding billboards in the first place if were only able to use what the game gives us. Especially on PC.
I’m holding out hope but i know that’ll definitely be a big issue for people.

Very sad indeed if they took them out.

Billboards without custom images has no value at all, then they could have taken the billboards out entirely.
Lets wait and see how this will progress. Im optimistic something will change as the current way doesn't make sense at all.

I was hoping we could at least edit the scenery on the whole map, so that we could create things like an island resort in sandbox mode (saw a screenshot that looked like that).
But it seems this maybe a scenario map... Hope they will add a scenery editor soon
