Could you SC to another star system ?

Any changes in this? I'm trying to SC to Sol from Wolf 359. Started at 7.78 Ly, but down to 7.75 Ly after 10 minutes at SC. Currently doing 1300c, with a stated travel time of 2.1 days.
Figure I'll run out fuel in the meantime.

I would love to be able to do this too. Call me muppet, but I like the idea of being able to super-cruise between systems. It adds to grandeur of the galaxy. The fact that I could travel to another system without hyperspace just makes me feel more apart of this giant galaxy.
I flew outside of the pill into Vega (it took about 6 hours in supercruise). This was made easier by the bug at the time that let you log out and in and regain all the fuel you had when you initially entered the system!
However, as others have stated, the vega system did not generate, no star, no nothing. I couldn't scan anything and made it to 0m away from where vega should have been. I think the could code a transition somewhere over that vast distance, but given the times involved you can see why it would be a low priority for the gaming experience as a whole. I still feel it would add to seamless was and immersion though so I hope that it is register at a later date.

Figures as much. I went to sleep last night heading to Sol with 7.73 Ly left doing 3300c or so. Possible the wipe would get me before I got there. Didn't matter, as when I got up this morning to check on the progress, Windows did a restart (update?), and when I logged back in, I was back near the station in Wolf 359.
Curious as to if the top speed had changed I just tested. It took almost an hour but I'm now holding steady at "2,001c" with no change in the last 5+ minutes. I'll leave it going a while just to be sure. Edit: 20 minutes later and still at 2,001c, so looks like it's definitely still the max.
This has gotten me about 0.17ly from where I started and taken one full Reservoir of Cobra fuel plus about another 1/4. A quick calculation seems to say I could get ~6.8ly on a full 16T tank.
