With the recent drop of Update 10 I've started playing again...

I noticed that the FSD 'cooldown' signal has a handy little countdown icon to the left - has this always been there, or is it an innovation....?

It has been there for at least 6 years.

As others said it's been there for many years. When the count down ends it's accompanied by a subtle sound effect so you don't have to look at it while manoeuvring to line up for the next jump.

It must be just that the recent spate of bugs stemming from Update 9 has left me more vigilant.
