BEE-TUH is correct (in fact it is more debatable whether we should use B or V as the first letter, rather than the pronunciation of the first vowel, which has always been 'EE' in both ancient and modern Greek) but American English is now so prevalent, it's probably more widely spoken as BAY-TUH, so don't sweat it.

It is pronounced bae-tuh with a wider E instead of the one in "Bee" in Greek. Pronounced as it is written without vowels.

PSA (Public Service Announcement) for those waiting for the beta to be released. Whilst you're waiting, take this time to back up your keybinds (just in case).

There's a lot of junk in the English language now, much more so than when I was a kid, a lot of American games and indeed TV shows/films (Friends for example) don't know the difference between bring and take, and many can't spell 'than' writing instead 'then' (presumably they pronounce both 'thn') it makes reading posts tricky sometimes, as for whether it's Bayta or Beeta is unknown to me as my 'Maths/History' teacher was a Scott (scotch) and being originally a 'southerner' much of what he uttered went over our heads.

Anyway, what time is the BU-TIE combing hup?

I just heard this is an Open-only beta and I am saddened and outraged. I dont have enough time to play this game to any degree of ability or to engineer anything. And now I discover to my despair that I cant play a closed beta in Solo/PG. All Modes Are Equal. Except CQC. My daughter's birthday is today and she only plays CQC and she wont get beta. We had to postpone her birthday party as all her dresses are now ruined by the stains of tears. My cat is sick and she loves the Xbox version. Nobeta! Noway!

.. just a few placeholders, I take it we are doing this again while we wait for beta to go live?

..

I'm surprised we haven't moved onto the 'where are the patch notes? How hard can it be to put them together? phase yet. C'mon people - lets keep to the schedule!

Edit: Oops, forgot angry face :(

.. :)

The pronunciation is very easy...

How do you say Alphabet? The word comes from the first two greek letters Alpha and Beta

So the E pronunciation in straight forward

Indeed, I've taken to writing in American these days. I see less red underlined stuff and have to explain myself less often. lol. I'll never forget the classic example of the most bizarre English pronunciations...

What does this word say? How do you pronounce it?

GHOTI

The answer is 'fish'. GH is F, as in cough. O is I, as in women. TI is SH as in nation. Silly language, how did it become the language of business! :)

Did you know it was apparently only by a few votes that English was chosen as the official language of North America over Greek? We could all be speaking Greek now. :)
