Couple O' Questions

If it doesn't have Newtonian Physics like Frontier, then what is the unique selling point of ED?

What stops it being Evochon for the nostalgic?

I haven't played Evochron Mercenary, but here are some things people commonly cite as USPs for this game:

  • realistic universe (look out your window now and pick a star - it will exist in the game)
  • player-driven evolving galaxy (if you turn the tide of a battle, you may change the course of history)
  • stealth-based combat (noise and heat signatures a la submarine warfare)
  • Flexible grouping system (meet just the sort of people you want to meet)
I suspect other people will chime in with their favourites too :)

I would phrase it as "big universe" rather than "realistic universe" as I don't much care how realistic it is, but the ability to go where you want and (within limits) do what you want is attractive.
