CQC Rank Grind?

Glad that CQC is somewhat bouncing again thanks to players who downloaded Elite via GamePass but even then the rate of finding a match is still at a minimum.

For those who actively play it is there some way of earning higher rates of XP in CQC? My main goal is the Level 50 reset to prestige 1 and snag the CQC Homeworld system permit.

Ive heard peeps mention that using capture the flag as the game mode you simply fly around and farm kills till everyones satisfied and start capping flags, as a way to farm CQC rank (1-50)?

While I'm not 100% sure, I think XP increases faster if you kill opponents with a higher CQC ranking than you.
Not the numbered rank, but the named rank.
That's how it should work anyway, if this isn't the case.

I think kills and winning matches help in general, but I'm not entirely sure how it works, either. Looking at Inara, it might be total score based, ala Call of Duty. All score accumulates. Killing players, securing flags, kill assists, and winning the match should add to that score. Some people appear to have more kills than higher ranked players, possibly indicating different game modes being played, and different rates of wins/losses. I know the wiki says they aren't the same -- CQC having 50+ levels or whatever, but I think they may be connected. Could just be poor wording.

I'm 75% professional if I remember right, all legit. If I make main-game CQC Elite rank, before I max out my CQC-Arena rank, I'll try to take note of it. I'd imagine Vik is closer than I am, if he's not Elite already.

Most of my time in CQC was during Distant Worlds 2, during that one season. Nearly all Deathmatches, rare TDMs, and no CTF games to be found. I believe you get less score per kills in CTF, but I'm not sure. Some people have been known to boost with friends. Lost out to the 'Achievements' squadron, folks who let each other take flags/get kills for free, that very same season. Pretty disappointing after virtually soloing a second place on the Xbox boards lol. Don't be that guy.

@ManlyVIK, What is your current number rank in CQC? On Inara, you actually appear to be on the cusp of Eilte. Could you look at your panel in the main-game soemtime and see what rank and percentage you're showing?

I'm currently at 950000xp in CQC.
The best way to earn xp fast is to simply play. You'll get better and get more kills over time. 1 prestige is easily doable within one month as a beginner, playing 2 hours every evening. You get 100xp per kill, so you can play around noon when there aren't many vets playing (games won't close as fast, chance to play with players on your level).

Alt Account farming or farming friends isn't very welcomed, especially if you're taking up slots in dms or tdms. People will definitely get irritated if you're just there to farm accounts and quit as soon as someone good joins. If you really feel the need to do it, go to ctf.
But as I said, it's not that big of a grind if you just take your time, try to get better and get more kills. You will gain a lot of skills for the main game too.

Xp doesn't increase faster. 100xp per kill, no matter who.

Then how do you explain people that have far more/less kills than others but are about the same prestige/rank?

Then how do you explain people that have far more/less kills than others but are about the same prestige/rank?

• people playing different game mode, especially CTF
• some people are just worse than the others
• people grinding rank by sitting AFK in the arena
• people farming their own alts
