FA Off isn't needed. Learning to use the fly-by-wire gives a real advantage, just like fighter pilots don't disable their flight assist. It's quite funny shooting someone who thinks they're being awesome by spinning on the spot and then are stuck in the mud, trying to overcome inertia while I position myself behind them and give them hot fire up the tradesmen's entrance.

Of course, there are people who are truly gifted at FA Off, but they are very rare.

Hes been flying FAoff since ive met him.
There are very good FAoff pilots out there...so no, I do not agree with your statement.
Yodafone(Lancer), Ishinona, Jesse are some of the top FAoff pilots I have seen.
I have seen others fly this way and do very well also.
If you do not practice this mode, then yes, I agree with your assessment.
But these Cmdrs have been flying like this for months and its second nature to them.
I only hope to be as good some day.

Heya Jesse.Im gimped at the moment.
My Hotas took a dump and waiting for xmas before my wife, woops santa brings me another good stick.
Im using the Thrustmaster T1600 right now, cant seem to get it to work for me...too much dead zone in some places, too twitchy in others..just doesnt feel like my hotas.
But looking forward to someday flying wing with ya buddy!

I blame Call of Duty, BF4, etc. This is a FPS mode for ED. CHURN AND BURN instant action (or it wants to be if there are enough players). Mindless death and respawn. I'd much rather have ships that last longer in battle and die once, then thats it until the next round. And forget this unbalanced higher levels get better gear junk. If your going to match people up, they need to be even. Sacrificing proper match making just to have players churn and burn is just horrible. If that's what it takes to make this game style work, then the resources should have been spent building a better main game.
