Capture the flag seems to matchmake the best. I have yet to get into a deathmatch game. Team deathmatch seems to happen but then is always one sided - ie 3 vs 1 when 4 were waiting.


Some stuff definitely wrong atm but can't think what else to say that's helpful. Anyone else getting a similar experience?

I agree about the teams being off balance, and the games starting with insufficient players. I however, can't find a CTF games, and can only find TDM.
 
The matchmaking seems to be biggest issue on CQC at the moment. They need to make it more snabbier to get into the game. There's no need for the wait perioid if all the players just hit accept the match right from the bat. Also, I don't know if people aren't playing it, but it's at times a bit of a wait to actually find matches.

But other than that, the feel of CQC is just fantastic. I love spinning and boosting around those arenas, the are fantastic. And the combat feel is awesome.

There's something wrong with the match setups there. A couple of times I've ended up in a deathmatch of 1 vs 1, and it's not that much fun when it's one-sided. And then, most times you have to wait until 6 people are willing to play before it will start. Often there are 4 or 5 people waiting, then someone gets fed up waiting for the 6th, and leaves only to be replaced shortly afterwards, and this goes on for 10 or 20 minutes at a time for me. Why can it start sometimes with just 2 players and other times refuse to start until 6 people are ready?

Also, I still can't invite my friend to my squad... But then I can't contact him at the menu screen either and that's been a problem for months...

New one now... Was in a match with just two other players, yet there was a third player who won the match with 6 kills... Yet I never saw him once. That's happened to me in the main game before - one person in the same instance can see all the same players as I can, but can't see me and I can't see them. Strange behaviour, and maybe I just missed him, but 6 kills against 2 other players that I was tracking, I surely would've noticed... And he never once attacked me either. Weird...
 
Hi all,

The new stress test build will be arriving at approximately 2:30pm BST today and will be down for up to 30 mins. It will allow everyone access to the Beta build and includes the following change logs.

- Opened access to all players
- Make interdiction a bit fairer, it isn't so weighted in favour of the person being interdicted
- Fixed missing damage sections on Anaconda

IMO you have gone too far with interdiction. It is now easier to interdict than it was before beta 1.4.
Was just coming to grips with the new settings which were quite hard. Now it is just point and click, got em.
About halfway would be good.

You mean did I enjoyed getting killed instantly over and over for 5 minutes? Quite so actually. It was fun! I cannot see myself sitting there playing CQC though as PVP has never been much of a favorite. But I will try it. :) Hope ranking will play a big part in matching. Otherwise beginners will have a tough time and that will cause CQC to die out.
I will continue to serve the Empire in the main game and leave CQC to the proz. ^^
 
I guess I had big time luck yesterday. Highest opposing rank in my game was 7. So I managed to get to rank 5 in a few games. Condor is nice but I like eagles beams more.

I believe that even if you get killed all the time, you can still get some points just by landing a few shots on the enemy.

I did actually manage to win a Deathmatch game the other day even though I'm rubbish at PVP, but I did terrible in a Capture the Flag game, partly because I didn't understand the rules and partly just because I'm not very good yet.
 
They have already announced it won't be out till 6th October.

They still have to test putting the Xbox and PC players into the same background sim in the next couple of weeks as well - they are still separate right now.

6th October, that's rather a long beta. Powerplay was released in June-- that's four months between patches.

Doesn't exactly give much space for 1.5; Horizons beta; and horizons itself this year. That rather suggests Horizons won't be out until March 2016 or something, at earliest.

I think part of the beta will be to put the Xbox and PC galaxies into the same galaxy server - that will happen some time in the next couple of weeks.
 
My feeling after 6 or 7 matches (death match mode)

cons:
1)first minutes of play are a bit difficult: I was lost due to aiming changes.
All weapons look gimballed and since I was not able to select a target, aiming was a bit hard!
I don't understand why we cannot select opponent with next/previous ennemy, as usual.


Ah yes - I just realised - select previous works but next doesn't and same with threat select. Is this as intended or is it broken? They work fine in the main game in 1.4 test
 
Please Frontier! Don't allow Wings to join DEATHMATCH!
Why not? Friends should be allowed to team up imo. Maybe even start PVP teams. That would boost CQC for the better and it might even trigger e-sports events.

Edit: Ah I misunderstood there. ^^ Nvm!
