Crashed Deep Space Probe Discovered - Drojeae Sector

While hunting premium FSD boost elements, I can across this deep space probe crash site over 4000 ly from bubble in the Drojeae sector. Data point scan noted it contained Intel for the Alliance.

Is this a new/rare find, or have others came across these deep space probes?

Looks like a crashed Nav Beacon.
Never seen a "deep space probe". Was this object named deep space probe? What did your contact panel say?

I just found one on a planet in the Xothuia AA-A H34 Nebula, so that's on the other side of the core. I assume you can find them anywhere now. Though on this expedition I'm doing, I've only landed a handful of times to get various nebula shots from the surface. So that was one out of maybe 10 planets I've landed on already?

I assume they're a lot more common than we originally thought...

Yes, it's a crashed navigation beacon.

Trivia: ordinary nav beacons emit the name of the star system they are present in, in Morse Code. These crashed beacons emit the letters of the word "BROKEN", in randomized order.

They've been seen in remote systems before, though logically a nav beacon shouldn't be way out there. It's purely RNG; there's a small but nonzero chance of finding these things, anywhere.

There are also actual "crashed space probes" you can find; they resemble the four-solar-panel Mariner space probes. You can see an example in this old thread.

That's interesting then. Just seems weird to see anything of human nature that far out, yet we never see any crashed alien ruins, cities or objects that far out (at least not to my knowledge)...

Yes, 1kly, 5kly, 10kly and more, it has got to the point where I basically ignore the POI's for wreckage because it's simply no longer reasonable placement. As you get further from the bubble you should find fewer until they stop altogether, but just about every planet has a share of them, to get that many shipwrecks, crashed probes and other human debris scattered across the galaxy like that we would need to have sent a large number of trillions of manned and unmanned craft into the galaxy. I consider it a game anomaly that should be ignored.

Yep the only one I saw was about 34,000 LY out, Guess anything can happen out there...

There are many game anomolies, that have to be there,to improve the game. Sound in space comes to mind, how ships slow down in a vacuum after boost, seeing a space station from 150k out(should be,and was but a dot until changed after complaints), blocked Cmdrs not seeing you when you are 10 foot away from each other....list goes on.

I suspect this is purely to add something to barren planets, else all we'd have are barren planets. Also, I suspect this irks lots of explorers as it affects their immersion.
I too ignore these POIs :)

Oh the crashed wrecks and probes do add something to the game I agree, you can also scan some and collect mats at others, get engineering stuff, but having quite a few with 1kly of the bubble trailing out to nothing far out in the black should be the way. Also they could be scattered along popular travel routes, colonia, Sag A, beagle point, but once you get off the beaten track, where every system you visit is a first discovery you shouldn't really find them at all. Ok maybe pop couple here and there, give them a story, maybe even have exploration missions looking for them, with big rewards for the first discovery, but out in the deep black we should be finding strange stuff, alien stuff, not deep space probes, escape pods and broken porta-loos everywhere.
