Crashed satellite with recording on planet in neutron star exclusion zone near Colonia

Hi all

so after a few tries I managed to land on the planet that goes within the exclusion zone of a neutron star that is near Colonia...
I quickly dismissed my ship as I have died once before there trying to take off when the planet went through the jet cone of the neutron star..basically my ship got picked up slung around and smashed into the ground over and over until it exploded...sort of the same kind of behaviour as when you fly through the cone to supercharge your fsd but imagine being tossed about like that on A planet lol.. try that in vr you dunno what the hells going on it Was quite a trippy experience haha
so anyways I have been driving around as I wait for the planet to swing around and pass right by the neutron star where they say the light show is spectacular ... so a blip showed up on my screen much like a resource marker ..a white box ...drove over there and it’s a crashed sattelite that has a repeating Audio recording ..it talks about enhancing certain stations in certain specific star systems ..also about the assassination of their lord some duke and how he is being mourned and his pending funeral?
is this a known item or something of any importance? Maybe something on that recording points to some new lore? I have no idea how to mark my co ordinates on the planet so I can tell others where to find it ....so just in case this is something important or something that has not been found before that others want to find I logged off with my srv right next to it. That way I could party with someone set my beacon and they could find the way there?
Anyways, something new and important ..or old found long ago and not worth bothering with? It’s tye only thing other than rocks I have seen after an hour of driving on this planet...

This could be very important indeed but needs verifying!

First test. Log back in. Is it still there? If so its more than an RNG. If not thats perfectly normal.
Second Test - check message inbox at top of screen. Is there an audio recording there? If so not RNG. If no thats perfectly normal.

If pass both those tests, start getting excited, you may have found something. If anything it is repeating the GalNet message but that I think would be new in itself.

there are many ways it could have happened co-incidentally or accidentally and not be anything. No worries if not, Ive certainly got over excited and missed something obvious before.

But DO report back either way :)

No need to report back. This is someone landing on the World of Death (DRAMATIC MUSIC!) driving around and discovering a random surface POI and playing the current galnet news whilst he's scanning it. Probably has a binding issue and has set his SRV scanner and the galnet audio play button to the same key, or something. That is absolutely 100% certainly what it is though.

Well, hold on there for a minute... keep your focus on that thought and don't dismiss it so hastily mister, cause I think you make the most sense around this small patch of space we found ourselves in. The simplest explanation of a given situation is in most cases the correct one, and I think you stumbled on to a golden nugget of truth there commander.

I suggest we wait for the coordinates of the aforementioned location and then embark on a journey with our bellies full of cargo and our hearts filled with desire for endless exploration, and find our rather suspicious friend. If it turns out to be a cleverly designed concoction of lies and deceipt, well... we'll just have to deal with the situation in appropriate manner.

Who knows, maybe we get lucky and even find that Raxxla fella. That poor SOB must be having a bad couple of nights of hiccups, what with all the talks about him I read around here.

Never have I been described as making the most sense anywhere in life! But thank you for the kind words ;) I do fear there is something suspicious though that system and coords weren't posted...??

Hi guys

its really late here in Australia so won’t log back in now ...but will do as mentioned by vetinari tomorrow first thing and let you all know ...is there a way for me to find the co ordinates of my srv so I can post the location? I’m no pirate and this is not a trick ...I am relatively new to the game so don’t know all the tricks yet ....it looks like an egg shaped sattelite crashed on the surface ....I have screen shots but I took them in vr which I have not done before ..if it’s still there when I log back in I will go back in non vr mode so I can take a proper screen shot...
so yeah this is not a trick ...not sure what this thing is or why it’s there just found it odd that it was on the surface of that planet! Will report back tomorrow ...

Sounds like one of the one on Merope - 5c. Which I think is a permanent POI.

The second option sounds most likely to be honest, unless there is a third, where all of this is some elaborate construct of my mind...? A bit like the matrix, but without the cool outfits, cookies, and the fit Ms Moss....
