Creative Mode?

I think that there should be a creative mode, so that people can find out what the best ship is. I think that this would be very helpful. tell me ur opinions.

Well while a creative mode might be a little much and the wrong fit for this game overall, i wouldn't mind being able test drive ships before buying them or getting the chance to use possibly special versions of ships or just the regular versions of ships which get loaned to us for certain missions, increasing our knowledge of and desire to buy our own models of the particular ships (particularly they'd work well if we ever get proper story missions in this game, as happens in other games) ... :) .

(Also getting special variants of ships or exclusive ships, even just those that are cosmeticly different for free for completing certain missions or reaching certain Naval or faction ranks would be nice too, as again happens in other games :) .)

I always felt cqc was a missed opportunity tbh :/ if they let you use your current ships and mods and we had the ability to populate private servers with bots it would have been great and alot more popular imo.

They could go even further and let you unlock all the ships for use in that mode only and just make a fully fledged arcade/skirmish mode! :)

the closest you can get to Creative Mode are the training missions. Those should give you a chance to try out several of the ships in the game and have the added benefit of making you a better player. Good luck!

Good point, but I feel like holome has to be a precursor for something. Right??? Right?!

If not...why?

The skeptic in me would say because they can charge for another expansion and other vanity add-ons like sunglasses, tattoos and funky island shirts...but it couldnt be that shallow and obvious could it...hmmmm?

Skeptic says you're right, but to this point FD hasn't made me not believe in them. I believe it's a precursor to something more. Otherwise they would make more money by offering more kits for the SRV.

Judging by the generally bad implementation of HOLOME and the restrictions in obvious things like long hair, body shape, body height, general build etc. - its extremely basic compared to many other avatar builders in games out there. I fail to see how they can use it for anything. So-called spacelegs which is what you are alluding to - Never going to happen. It would require a complete add on of an entirely new game to the existing base. History shows that they re struggling with simple improvements since 2.4 drop. They do not have time or staff to add good QoL improvements like the recently binned Orrery, they probably cannot add landings to atmospheric planets (if you watch the livestream with Dr Ross you can see Ed flinch when Ross practically admits they simply cant do complex planetary features which is why we don't, and probably never will, have it, without a significant overhaul and add-on). Okay a bit of tinfoil-hat-edness but based on some solid observations I think.

What we NEED is QoL IMPROVEMENTS right NOW to the base game. Lets see if BEYOND delivers. First off the rank is C&P but really, its not a big issue to anyone except the ganker crowd. What's next - thats what I want to see?

Can't argue anything you said. I agree I think QoL needs huge improvements and I'm waiting in anticipation to see what this holds for the future. The C&P has me nervous only because I know they are going after gankers, but I worry it will have ramifications for myself someone who has recently started role playing a pirates life against NPCs. Not ramifications in punishment for crime in general, but ramifications to the point that what little credits can be earned while enjoying it will be dashed completely due to only introducing punishments.

As for the space legs I think it's doable without adding a whole new game. It's an update similar to planetary landings. I don't subscribe to the theory it needs a FPS, simply the ability to move off ship at stations or in ship would add scale for me and depth without actually doing anything. I do get I'm in the minority and most feel if there isn't true FPS or gameplay of a sort why bother. I look at it as an immersion thing considering what we already have for gameplay being somewhat roleplayish in your head. I do think if it happens it's a few years away.
