Or rather than going with a nonsensically easy to exploit in-game mechanic... you could perhaps tutor them and actually give a little of your time to their advancement rather than an easy hand out. perhaps "HELP" is more than money and "GRATITUDE" is more than cash!

Just a thought.

Oh stop being so helpful and practical! ;)

Seems to me there is a bit of a conundrum about transferring cargo. I thought this short talk was about transferring cash.
How come cargo explodes after a while. And escape pods don't but you aren't allowed to rescue those poor innocents who have been consigned to a slow and lonely death out in the void.

Oh! Did I say I like short threads?
I think I did. Better check.
Ah, yes, I did.

It's really to limit exploits, how well that works is questionable, spend a few hours in a pristine metallic or wing up in PG in Maia to get a hold full of meta alloys and you can get a new account up to a big ship pretty fast. Mind you with missions paying out 100,000 Cr + for a new starter it's probably not worth it. I was in a Cobra in an hour when I reset one of my accounts recently. Get the right passenger mission and you're in an Asp almost immediately after that.

That's odd. A while Back a CMDR pirated me, was at a CG at the time i think, and made me drop 40 cargo. I watched him collect and didn't see any of it explode. Wonder how that happened, any ideas?

The canister's integrity will count down for 100% to 0% before exploding. If the other player was using collector limpets than that is plenty of time to collect 40 canisters before any of them reach 0%.

You were pirated in deep space away from a station where the limit is (from not very reliable memory) 50 or something. Try getting a hold full of the cheapest stuff you can, fly out 5K + away from the station and dump 40 of them and see how many you can get back.

First time I tried this was to get a second account into a more useful ship so I could maximise deliveries on a rares CG. Turned up in an Anaconda full of Palladium, thought I'd test I got the collector limpet range right by just dumping three at first (I knew about the limit already) managed to get left and right mixed up and dumped all bar 3. Desperately fired off a collector but out of a hold of 400 + cargo I still only ended up with 23.

I can still hear those canisters popping now!
