Credits in game Extra Store

The problem is not that someone could buy credits with cash and then an Anaconda and guns with the credits.

The problem is, credits also buy repairs, insurance, ammunition. Imagine a guy with a big wallet who can just spam the most expensive missiles in every fight and note care whether they die, because they never have to compensate any losses within the game.

There is not corporation territory to defend.
You move to the next system. Problem solved. ;)

You've not seen my Space Cow Missile Battery in action have you?
Been there, done that, no real money wallet required. Well, to be fair 440 tons of Prog Cells did sort of help).:D

To OP so many times people do not realise the scale of ED.
400 billion places to go means it matters not if some can buy their credits as nearly all of the space will be filled with only npc's so buying credits mostly just effects the buyer only.

I will not do it, or I think not but I hope others do as I want FD to have money to keep the game going !

Well, since Elite isn't really a PvP game, and missile spam is limited by magazines, I think I wouldn't be too bothered. If somebody wants to fund the game like that, be my guest. He or she will get to spam the missiles at system defence craft soon enough, and some bounty hunter(s) will get to take a crack at that mega bounty... preferably when the missile racks are starting to be empty.

I wasn't specifically talking about PvP (and I know that you know that I am not a here for the PvP^^), but about things that are balanced to be a deterrent - missile prices to use them on high-value targets or in emergencies, insurance cost so that death is to be avoided, crucial things which someone could entirely ignore through cash-for-credits. Also, someone like that need not care about bounties, either, just pull out the credit card and shrug them off, too.

Maybe you are right and the problem isn't even one. My point hals always been primarily that if FD want to allow people to boost progress with real money, they should just sell the ships directly instead.:)
