Modes Crime and Punishement update seems to have worked...

Might just be me but im noticing a definate decrease in wanted commanders or gankers/griefers and the current CG..

Where are all those try hards now i wonder?

Saw Harry Potter rocking an 80 million bounty. And all he was doing was running every time someone got close.

Must be nice.

Well done FD :)

Nothing to do with C&P yet. Far too early to burn though their savings to crub any behaviour.
Besides they are probably busy outfitting/ engineering their new fleets from the payouts over the weekend.

So the new C&P system is already broken, as people pulled billions in cheated credits, so C&P fines are now pocket change to them anyway.

I mean if you just look at it from a monetary standpoint as a deterrent for billionaires... (which is flawed but ok) But youre ignoring the other mechanics of the new system...

I had a bounty of just 1,000 and it was a pain in my as i was interdicted every 5 minutes by bounty hunting NPCS. So throw in the ATR on top of this AND the limited station services and being booted out of the system to the nearest detention faciltiy if you die and well, if you ask me..plenty of punishment there even not including the rebuy price and fines. If nothig else..its enough of an inconveience to deter. But ill keep an eye, still have yet to see a wanted commander other than Potter. Who most likely came out of the womb that way...

I like to think that either the ATR has done its job OR they just paid the fined as they figured it wasnt worth it.

I get your point.

But remember, someone took a combat ship to Sag A* to shoot explorers and tourists.
This was back before engineering and before 20,000Ly route plotting.
They had around 10Ly jump range and could only plot under 100Ly jump distances.

No such thing as an "inconvenience" to some folks.

But I do hope you're right. I just think it is too early to tell. Perhaps around June / July time we may see the effects of this new system.

Will keep you posted. This has being the most hassle free CG in my three years playing Elite though.

I wouldn't judge things based on the current CG (I assume you're talking about the Arek one) as it's not that popular comparatively speaking and due to the low volumes of the goods required people are spread further afield. Having said that I look at the Top 5 bounties when I dock and I haven't seen many large bounties (then again it's only been a week).

Dont worry, the new engineering system and stats mean basically that any PvP ship from 2.4 needs to reengineerd. People are doing just that.

The new engineer numbers however are insane, its basically a god modded ship with only 10 rolls of G5 upgrades. I have 147% MP on my FAS that can almost permaboost to 550m/s.
Overcharged frags now do 75% damage increase compared to 45% in regular roll in 2.4

FDEV have no idea what monster they created. I will be done for the weekend and I will be wanted in a CG.

I've had similar results with my Chieftain. I forgot last night that I still had to fly to Palin to get the thrusters, but now that's done and oh mama that thing is like riding a race horse. A race horse with frag cannons and overcharged PA's.

What is happening now is, the gankywankies are prodding the new system to see where the loopholes are. Once they have found all the best ways to avoid any sort of consequences they'll come crawling out of the woodwork again.

This. And agreed with Jockey's assessment that it's far too early to tell what impact C&P 3.0 will have- it will take at least a few months to sort it out.

Even if they "avoid playing the game for the next few months in favor of keeping their savings"- they'll still have made an impact with their lack of presence. ;)

It works both ways though. Were engineering too..

Its a level playing field and we have ATR on our side.. if youre going to be the big scary wolf you say you will at least...

Can't wait to put it in action, I am willing to pay real money for all the engineering grind I am going through ATM... god..

Am in the wait & see category..

I think that anyone who thinks their newly modded ship is going to destroy everyone is forgetting that anyone can now attain a similar modded ship with just as impressive results.

That was the whole point of this patch.

Hell of an oversight...

And depending on where you're flying, you only need to engineer up some good defences to hold for ATR to turn up and help out.

But again, let's see if it actually works out that way.

you are going off the premise that everyone is going to now go engineer their ship to the max.
