It’s great when non PCers have someone helpful and knowledgable, willing to guide them in and avoid the potential for buyers remorse, or other more technical frustrations.
I remember the days when I used to buy my pc’s from Curry’s! Then the internet came along and I discovered people online willing to educate me.
The machine they will get from me will have WIN7 Pro as an alternate OS, so they will have the Windows Movie Maker tools to post up videos and pictures from the game.
It will have Chrome and Chromium browsers with one pre-bookmarked to game related sites.
The machine will be cleaned of all the WIN10 Malware.
The other browser will be pre-bookmarked to a site that tracks the Windows 7 updates and watches for more malware.
It will have Chromium and Chromium browsers with all the game stuff pre-book marked on one of them.
It will also have Linux Mint Cinnamon 19 as the default OS with Chromium and Opera browsers.
This OS will be set to do automatic level 1 and 2 updates.
Doing all this is part of why it takes a week to 10 days for me to build one.
I have to find and order a refurbished MT Dell quad core i7 or i5 that has at least a 265 Watt Gold (or better) power supply that the refurbisher will ship with Win7 Pro or Ultimate.
Dig through the web for a used GPU comparable to the GTX 745 Oem or if they have a good monitor already and are willing to spend more money, watch for a sale on a GTX 1050. The bottom of the line 1050 will get 90+% of RECOMMENDED while my Zotac GTX 1050 OC TI pushes 112% of Rec. A 1050 will sometimes cost more than the PC.
Since Linux Mint updated from 18 to 19 since I made my last bookable USB I will have to make the new one.
When they aren't a charity case like this guy because he is on disability, I tack on 10% for my trouble.
