Cross platform play

I have friends playing on various platforms and we were all talking about how good it would be if frontier would allow players to play in open play from various platforms.

Less to do with Frontier and more to do with the consoles opening up their networks. Xbox says yes, Sony say maybe. A couple years back it was the other way around.

If Xbox says yes then why can’t pc and Xbox pair up once Sony sees it as a success I’m sure they’d jump on the bandwagon

It would be nice, but I thing fdev have created a problem, allowing CMDR and squadron names to be platform specific, I may not be possible to merge them together as two different people may have the same cmdr or squadron name

fdev have already said they are watching the situation with xplay, I'm sure they'll inform us when they decide to implement it

The background simulation, community goals, and live story are shared. Players from different platforms cannot instance together however.
