Bad pool. I am exploring with it. 5000ly out and going.

Why would you do that to yourself? With that turning radius Han Solo would definitely mistake it for a moon. So to pitch your nose up away from the star and prepare for the next jump is something approaching 10 seconds more than your common-or-garden Asp ... per jump. Not counting 10 fewer Lys. Also just the wear and tear when you get back will be several times greater than your exploration payout, unless you are farming only neutron stars or something!

(I mean it can catch up but.... what if the other pilot turns 180° and boost in the opposite direction? Pirate won't primary kill their fools eh victims...)

Even better - turn 180 and merge. Take station on his six and fall down with laughter when Pirate attempts to get visual. When he finally gives up and boosts to extend, go silent and do it all over again :D

Because I enjoy exploring with my big ship. I really have fun like that.

Exactly, I took a T9 to SagA*, My Cutter is enroute back from a shakedown cruise to the Coalsack. Who cares about integrity cost when you are flying a 300+ million credit ship :/

@Chainguns - By the time the cooldown has stopped, my ship is pointing at the next jump target. Don't just use pitch to maneuver a heavy ship... It's not an Imperial Eagle.

After watching Troa's video, I have visions of cmdr's pulling with all their might, cursing the ship for being so slow.. Roll into a turn, full yaw then pull the ship through the turn

This is the most sensible post about maneuverability I have ever seen. You'd think there was pitch and only pitch from the way people compare turn rates. +1

Yeah but my reply was a little tongue in cheek. Sure it's not thaaat bad at turning, and obviously you're using all it has to offer - anyone with 1bn to spend on a ship like this is likely to know that.

But it will still take you a good deal longer to pointer your hooter at scan targets than the Asp. And there are no other players to see you exploring "in style". And higher g planet landing might be tougher with those verticals. And some tourist destinations won't be accessible unless you've collected a lot of Jumponium, unlike the 36Ly Asp.

It's getting silent about the Cutter.
So I thought let's make a Poll ;-)

Ok, seriously, I really wonder.
I had mine since Patch day but only outfitted as a pure Trader, 'cause I can't think - with that drift and slow turnings - it can be made to something other.

This is my Trading build: coriolis.io-Link
perhaps I'm changing it to a CombatTrading build like this: coriolis.io-Link

It's doing it's Job in a great luxury way (and with great Profit mind you). I haven't done trading since my Python days as I never liked the Anaconda much.

I really like that ship. As a Trader. But... shouldn't it be capable of doing more?

So how do you use your Cutter?
Please share your outfittings...

thanx

Rucky,

I also use it as a trader but with my hardpoint fitout it can easily take care of an Anaconda in about 20 seconds. I have not tried it against the Corvette. However, I sacrifice some of its cargo capacity (I only have 512 T in mine) for its ability to fight (with shields at 1800 or more) and to take long trips without refuelling (this sucker really chews the juice) while keeping the outlay to a modest 314 Million credits.

I find that this ship is much nicer to fly than the Anaconda and the Cutter's defence capability is very good - this is a must where I operate as there are a lot of pirates and Enemy ships. However, I have several ships - the Vulture for pure shoot em ups is great fun ( it even does well against (at least one) Corvette - haven't had any other encounters with one of these beasties - the ASP for long trips to discovery (although the Type 6 is great too) - and the Python for trading at outposts and on high profit or rank missions.

I think the best you can do is have fun and with the ability of the Cutter to land at planetary sites you can find some very good and highly profitable trades.
