Another option for those of us without Founder's World access is Patreus space since he has a 10% discount on Imperial ships. Given he's also in the heartland of the Empire it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume they might be for sale somewhere in his space. You could buy the hull discounted there and then fly it over to a good Yong-mart system like Diaguandri to fit it out.

The problem is that the discount doesn't seem to be applied. I'm at Chapsugaibo, (Patreus control system) that sells the Cutter and there's no discount on any imperial ship. The same has been reported for Eotienses.
Tempted to do the same, but it's late and I wont be able to play tomorrow anyway, so I wont swamp support. LazerusKI reported it here.
Well - it says imperial ships on the power stats page in game and the active discount thread reports it as working for iShips in September (I actually thought it never did).

Same here was hoping to get the 15% but after a fruitless hour long search in LYR space I gave up and went to Jameson Memorial.
Did you do so? If yes, please keep us updated on any responses to your ticket. It'd be interesting to see FD's view on whether it's a bug or an intended feature.

I bought it at Parkinson Dock, Eotienses and again no discount was applied. Very few outfitting options for it there too so you have to get the best FSD available here, then strip it down (putting in only D rated equipment). This should give you roughly 10ly jump distance. I hopped down to NU (roughly 6 or 7 jumps if I recall). Fitted the 6A FSD there and 5A fuel scoop and then hopped over to Luiken Port, Itza and A rated it (15% discount there too). Bit of a faff and there's probably a much more efficient way to do it but I thought I'd post this in case anyone else is still struggling.

I spent about 2 hours flying around looking for a discounted one last night too lol!
Then in the end bit the Bullet and payed full whack from Eotienses as well, kitted her out for trading with an A7 FSD, and then parked her up as I was desperate to go land somewhere!

Nope, and I checked Reddit too without luck. In the end I went to Founder's World (premium beta access, yay!) and got mine with 10% discount on ship and outfitting. As far as I can tell, the 15% discount is currently not available for the cutter, though FD might change their mind on that eventually.

I guess its probably intentional then. Seems a bit daft though, I imagine the majority of people who can afford it won't not buy it just because it's not discounted so it doesn't help with exclusivity or anything. It's just nice to save a few credits on not just buying it but the insurance as well...

I agree that it's a bit daft. Specially after hearing one of the dev yesterday in the stream saying that mass had been artificially set for the Cutter so that it would not be too good, otherwise, everybody would buy it. Yeah, right, after grinding the Empire rank, now they apparently remove the discount on that specific ship. They are really worried that too many people would buy it...
