CV1 black screen

Just got home, oculus said it needed to do an update, now the rift is showing a black screen. Every thing was fine this morning. Anyone else had an update today?

I have a Black Screen after the Elite logo in my Vive, tonight, for the first time. Still could not access the game.

Oculus are askinjg me to completetly reinstall everything, does that mean I have to download ELite dangerous and every single app again?

Here's what they sent me

Thanks for getting back to me with that information.

There is no way to block the updates but the software should be working, which makes me think there may be some corrupted files that are getting reused. I would like you to try a manual reinstall. To do that:

Disconnect your computer from the internet.
Reboot into Safe Mode.
Uninstall Oculus Home using the Control Panel.
Delete all Oculus folders from the following folder:
C:\Program Files
Remove any Oculus folders from the following locations:
C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData
C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Local
C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\LocalLow
C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Roaming
C:\OculusSetup-DownloadCache
C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Local\Temp\OculusSetup
Restart your computer in normal mode.
Reconnect your computer to the internet.
Install Oculus Home again using the setup tool from our website here.
Please get back to me with the results at your convenience.

Best regards,

For anyone reading this in the future with a similar issue after an Oculus update - I managed to solve my problem through this post

Lately, any time I get poor tracking errors in Oculus Home, I check Windows Update and there's a cumulative update I need to install. I do the update, reboot, and everything is back to normal. Today, it happened and instead of checking Windows Update, I tried rebooting and it didn't fix the issue. I ran Windows Update and voila! All fixed!

Now back to reinstalling 70 gigs worth of software..
