cv1 FOV shape question

I was wondering if anyone that owns/tried the cv1 could answer if the shape of the fov is square because of the big lenses? Like it gets if you adjust the lenses on the dk2 all the way in so the lenses no longer cut off the picture

Own CV1.

Would say the shape of the fov is more round than anything. You can run the lenses towards the side with the slider to give a more oval left-to-right effect, but for me it seems to reduce clarity. Pupillary Distance I think it's called.

I've ridden motorbikes for years, and I find the effect very similar in ED to wearing a helmet. The "godrays" don't bother me as much as others I guess, because it's exactly like having the plexiglass shield down. I suppose I'm just used to it.

For me it's oval. There's no lens distance adjustment on the Rift, but I've not needed it to be honest.

thanks for answering! Thats a big relief! I find a square picture really immersion breaking. I don't think I´m going to care that much about the godrays either, mostly looking forward to the reduced SDE
