So far to me, Phantom Liberty is feeling like... Like living a season of one of my favourite podcasts, Blowback.
Not entirely - the cyberpunk genre encompasses a lot of themes, which the game from CDPR only touches lightly for some, while digging deep in its core tenets (disclaimer: I didnt play the DLC yet). If you are not familiar with the genre, you'll discover by yourselfDon't spoil it for me, but without knowing, im still expecting all this edgyness to lead to something directly uncomfortable, like they very cheaply do in the story parts of diablo 4. Im suspecting though there's a chance it will never cross the line (and the measure is completely subjective)... but wow this is going to be good if they keep doing what they're doing with the defined level of respect they've shown so far. Because there's a fair amount of heat in the dish also.. and its always, and a constant.. just like the setting..
Which is probably what you're hoping they would cross right?![]()
It's very well paced. It gets more intense at times, properly spaced with breather moments. This is going to be crazy good if it stays at that same temperature throughout, accounting for plot moments etc.
The person in your head is literally the protagonist of the introductory adventure example in the original CP 2020 rulebook. It is thematically a very good introduction into the world and how you could play something else than a solo (warrior) or netrunner. Not entirely - the cyberpunk genre encompasses a lot of themes, which the game from CDPR only touches lightly for some, while digging deep in its core tenets (disclaimer: I didnt play the DLC yet). If you are not familiar with the genre, you'll discover by yourselfSome side quests lightly brush very interesting themes, for example the Peralez quest line could certainly be expanded into a whole game / DLC (and there are indeed whole books with the same premise).
Not spoiling anything of course, cyberpunk genre is very sinister by nature, being a pessimistic outlook on corporate power, reaganomics, technology and post-humanity. If you want the most satisfying ending, you'll have to work for it as it's hidden away. Just a hint: pay attention to that terrible person in your head and do not hesitate to give him the benefit of the doubt. And dig into his history, even if it's optional...

I have Cyberpunk and Phantom Liberty on both PS5 and PC.I think i might have been peaking...
See i also own the console version of cyberpunk (one of the nice things about collecting a game when its completely flopped and old). Got around to trying the raytraced shadows on ps5.. i'm so awestruck. Its wonderful. I'm so happy. I can see what they did, the screen space reflections are good enough, already, must have been the shadows to add more effect. Having said.. i feel like saying they could have achieved the same thing with different artistic choices and stronger ambient occlusion..But still.. wow.
Having cross progression work well is just icing on the cake.
So of course i became convinced it was time to upgrade my gaming pc, yep okay, real time raytracing is great, i want the rest of it too.
Then the high wore off and reality sank in its still basically only in this game.
Don't forget to grab the GoG version, so you can put it on physical media.Yeah, the expansion being digital only, i think that's the most firm direction available to get it at deep sale. Its only for time, a bit in a database and a great movie.

(I have a USB stick I modded to look like the Relic from CP77 which contains all the installers)
Though be aware that last time I checked they hadn't removed the errant Galaxy dll from 2.0's offline GoG installer and it needed manual deletion for the game to run without crashing.
I removed all of the MSi Software from my PC a long time ago, it was slowing things down over time, I felt it was a bloating app(s).Yeah my pc version is with gog. Being cpu limited, i did encounter the no gog crash myself.. Turning off most of the features seems to have helped. I also have turned off msi afterburner though (its surprisingly cpu active).. so ended up using gog galaxy for screenshots figured id just live with it.
For w3, i did download the installers etc, but due to mods, ive always just kept around the game folder itself.. there's no fancy registry stuff going on, as long as you have the game folder and your saves in documents it doesn't need to be installed.. Cyberpunks installers are 120 gigs.. ill be fine for now![]()

yeah, I mostly just walk around and watch the coppers and psychos fight each otherI’m just waiting on the Luke Ross VR mod to be fully completed (it’s mostly working now but is still work-in-progress) before jumping into Ver 2.0 - CP2077 is one of my top VR games ever, even with it just being a mod.
Driving around Night City with some custom radio stations is a chill experience, I’ve been out on 30 minute rides just for the fun of it.

True, and there are so many places you can go and just watch what the peps are doing, I know at some point you will start to see a repetition, but there is a good portion of different conversations I haven't heard before and it's funny to just sit and listen to two people argue or whatever is going on.It's fun wandering around Night City. Don't need a mission or objective.
Well VR is insane but man the cost of the PC you would need to play this.
