Game Discussions Cyberpunk 2077 - official gameplay

To be clear then.

When the game unlocks later tonight in the UK we will then have to download another enormous file before playing?

Yes.

I am 'hopeful' of being able to play tonight, 50GB doesn't normally take more than an hour or so on my connection, but with everyone all hammering the servers at once I expect it will take much longer. I'm just leaving my PC on overnight to patch.

New 460.79 NVIDIA driver out with official Cyberpunk support this morning.

Not available for me on GeForce Experience - still showing the 2nd December driver (457.51) which I've resisted installing because I knew there would be a CP-specific driver coming so why risk it.

Is this on their website?

EDIT: Nvm, took as long as it took for me to type the above for the 460.79 driver to show. I did check for updates immediately before posting though! 😄

Quick heads up - it looks like the patch has been released, and if you've preloaded it on GOG at least it's not that big. Only 9.7GB. It's downloading now (I activated it by trying to 'play' the game which comes up with the "wait - it's not the 10th yet" screen). Then it started updating.

Those who are wanting to play tonight at midnight might want to try this.

That doesn't seem to work on Steam. Though it doesn't matter too much as I'm working tomorrow, so I'll just download the day one patch during the day.

I normally shut down my computer before going to work. This time, I left in on, just in case something like this would happen. Hopefully, it’ll be ready to go after supper! 🤞

I'm putting this in the "Things To Watch When I've Played At Least 20 Hours Myself" file. 😋
I wouldn't bother...he spends most of the stream chosing curtains or salvaging every single piece of useless crap from every single box even in the middle of a firefight

Hopefully they optimized things a bit from what reviewers had in their hands.

If you mean performance/fps; review copies had Denuo DRM. They specifically asked TH to remove their benchmark (which they did) because the DRM significantly reduced performance. The launch version has the DRM disabled, so even if nothing else changed performance should be a bit better. Also, DLSS seems to be pretty much a must on 4k unless you drop quality a fair bit...

With 4 hours to go, I think I'm going to go get some shut-eye now in case it's really that good and will keep me up over night.

Thanks for the nudge. 6%. Dare I start the game though? Given I have a 10'o'clock with the neurologist tomorrow (8%) the correct answer is an emphatic 'no'. 'Great'. 11%.

Then again, just a quick look can't hurt... right...? 12%.

Yeah, I'm afraid that my "I'm just gonna start the Nomad route to check out the brunette chick and see if I like the path before switching to my theorycrafted Corpo" is going to turn into 10 hours of hardcore gaming session (after which I'm going to go die to the office)

Doctor's appointment, though, yeah. That's a pretty decent reason to not go overboard with this, tonight. :)

Jeebus. I didn't know performance affecting DRM was still a thing.

I'm going to experiment a bit to see. I "only" have a 1080Ti, so no DLSS or RTX or any of that. But I've managed to have good 4K experiences in every game so far, including NMS, E: D, and MSFS.

So I'm hoping with the quality dialled back a bit from the "High" setting, that will still be possible.
