:D Will Elite Dangerous Work In 3D Display...?

Hi,
... ... ... :DDoes Someone Know If The FULL Elite Dangerous Will Be Playable In Glass-Free 3D Display...?
:DThe Toshiba Qosmio F755 3D290 Glass-Free Laptop Has A Glass-Free 3D Display...:D
:DCan Play Some Other Games In 3D Display...
:DWill The Full Elite Dangerous Work With That Toshiba Qosmio And Play In Glass-Free 3D Display...?:D

Wow this post seems spamy to me. I doubt it, not at first anyway. Even if it did I'd wait for the technology to mature anyway. The reviews on that laptop's 3D aren't good, especially considering the price.

Since they support a range of 3D solutions even the old school red and blue glasses style so I'd be surprized if they didn't also support glasses less 3D.

The alpha build doesn't support my laptop's 3d (which uses 120 Hz refresh to alternate between eyes, rather than side by side.) glasses free 3D sounds more esoteric so I wouldn't hold my breath

Do You Know...?

Hi Wat

Nothing has been announced yet.

Currently the supported ranges are:

  • Anaglyph (Red/Green filtering requiring glasses)
  • Side by Side (requires a 3D TV/monitor with built in support and polarised glasses)
  • Oculus Rift (dedicated 3D headgear)
If Frontier decides to support additional 3D version, This forum will be one of the 1st places to learn about it.

Not sure if any Devs are around or if they are all hard at work

am just wondering how much extra coding will be needed for ED to work using the features of the new rift?

I dont suppose it is really an issue at the moment as it is not available to the general populace. I am just curious :)

(if the CES demo version becomes dev kit v2 I have to say I dont think i will have the will power to hold out any longer and will probably bag one)

You'll have to join a queue mate! Hopefully they'll prioritise the old backers first. ;)

meh, the old backers already have something to play with so, me 1st me 1st!!!! ;)

(only joking, infact I believe i read on their forums that if/when the next model launches, the original backers get priority in the orders, which is fair enough imo)

edit... pants I have posted in the wrong thread the last few times. I thought i was in the rift thread, sorry

if a mod wants to move the last 3 posts, then feel free!. my bad!.

:DHi,

Hmmm does anyone in the alpha possess a 3d monitor ?
I have an Acer GR235H 3D monitor which is NVidia 3d supported and pretty much all fps games or sims look amazing ?

Just select 3D mode put on my glasses and its great

Even Oolite and FFED3D look pretty impressive considering they have not even been optimised for it

Forgive my ignorance guys but anyaglyph are you referring to simple 3d glasses such as you would buy for a TV? Does ED support that as I only knew about the more expensive head set options.

Oculus' Palmer Luckey said that (due to their SDK) existing OR games/demos should be pretty much compatible with the eventual consumer OR.

BTW, duplicate post from the OP. :D
